Mary Worth 233

Speaking of reactions, yesterday there was some political controversy. I'm not speaking of whether or not Barak Obama agressively pursued an agreement on public campaign financing with McCain, or whether their staff discussions solved the 527 problem that surely would have made a joke of any such agreement. No, I'm talking about me. Yes, yesterday I joined with the Sierra Club, American Steel, AFSCME, Al Gore and a host of other evil-doers, and endorsed Barak Obama for President.

But just because Wanders endorses Obama, do not fear: Mary Worth proudly endorses John McCain, and here, in his own words, is why:

  1. After "I doubt I'd react the way he did," I think there's a panel missing. But we can imagine what Mary went on to say. Something like, "...I'd just track the other woman down and have her eliminated. No yelling, no fuss, I'm back to pruning my roses by midafternoon. It's not the jealousy I mind, Toby; it's the pathetic display of powerlessness. Has he learned nothing from me?"

  2. The only thing better than morally-superior Mary Morth is hypothetically morally-superior Mary Worth.

"Well, Toby, I've never been through it before, but I'm certain I would handle it with a wisdom so great that Solomon himself would blush. Before I cured that pesky cancer, of course. Yes, I'm certain that's how I would react."

  4. It's hard for me to guess her reaction. The blog title line shows a clearly pissed-off Mary. Since becoming a MW fan here a few months ago & not seeing that same anger, I'm thinking that's about as deep as her Robot Control Affect Center will let her parrot. That has left her only with the usual furrowed brow, evil hand-waves, ooky eyes, and the occasional frisson of irritation. Roses and Xanax: Worthian Utopia.

  5. Mary's unfathomably complex meddling subroutines, written well before man could walk upright, survived countless eons, slumbering in the dark swamps that would one day be drained to serve as home to the Charterstone Condominiums ... She of The Old Ones, rearing upright on her triple set of scaly hindquarters for the first time, slowly assuming humanoid form, scenting sweet guilt on the air ...

Don't be shy! I'd love to hear what you have to say about Mary Worth. Just keep it clean, that's all I ask. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY blog. I don't want to moderate comments, but I will if I have to.
