Mary Worth 828

Is that what a vigilante is? A guy who walks around downtown, asking people if they shot his cousin? It isn't as glamorous as I imagined.

This is perhaps one of the best lines of dialog ever to come forth from the pen of Karen Moy. It is a day of celebration in the Wanders household.

You know what would be awesome? If Richie's killer was Jenna's father. Awkward!

"Oh Lonnie, think of your blue-haired son! Don't condemn him to a life of waiting for you on park benches with shifting backgrounds!"

Speaking of blue, I especially like the Blue People Up To No Good in today's background. "Did you kill my cousin? Did you? Must. Scratch. Knuckle."

Wait! Mark's mother looks a whole lot like Abby, Kurt's mom. Without the funky hats, but still....

Yep, those background folks have more personality than some of the lead players.

I swear sometimes that Karen is in my house! I just said the same thing to my husband a few days ago! She is a woman who knows her audience, that's for sure!

Yep, mr. tight jeans and his, um... "lady" back there caught MY attention! Definitely more interesting than Lonnie and his itchy knuckles problem, LOL!

You are so right...this ranks in the very top of the dialogue heap! Vigilante=talking to people on the street. What is the world coming to!?

And get the man some Calamine lotion for his itchy hand for Pete's sake!

Oh, and the way she is holding her blue-haired son's hand...is she taking his pulse or carting him off to Son of Vigilante Detention?

@risherman: The concern about her son's blue hair is that he might turn into one of those dreadful Blue People, who lurk on the streets late at night and are therefore clearly Up To No Good. Or extras for Avatar.

Karen Moy must be a fan of the Charles Bronson "Death Wish" movies from the '70's.

Why is every down-trodden housewife portrayed wearing a bathrobe?

Who says I can't be a vigilante AND an awesome dad? This is America! I can be anything I want to be!

Wanders,

I had a miserable week last week. The previous Friday, I gotten laid off. I turned the big 5-0 on Tuesday my kids didn't think to send a card. I began a new job immediately on Monday and it is a lower paying buzz saw of a job, but it has a very bright future.

All week long, I missed out on the Mike and Lonnie story. I am just reading these tonight (Saturday 8/21), and I am laughing my backside off. You made my ENTIRE week! If only I'd been reading all week, I would have felt better!

Oh, and to top it off: GUNFIRE! in a Mary Worth strip... AGAIN!

The world IS a great place, indeed!

In noticing the background people, the guy on the right seems really "happy" to be that close to the lady of the night. Wow.

Maybe it is an optical illusion or something.

Lonnie is nuts. He need some of my itching powder, it seems.
