Mary Worth 1751

The Museum of Natural History is like Mary's kitchen, ever shifting and changing. In panel one, Ken and Mary are clearly standing in front of a skinny-necked bambiraptor, and in panel two, it has changed into a one-legged gasosaurous. Ha ha ha ha. Okay. I'm a dino-nerd. Sorry.

Mary Worth 1750

Let me see if I have the chronology correct here:
  • First date: Mugging and lunch at Benedetto's.
  • Second date: Photo exhibit at New York Public Library to "create a certain mood," a walk in the park, and pizza for lunch.
  • Third date: Christmas party at the Haven.
  • Fourth date: Watch ice skaters, visit Museum of Natural History, then ask her to abandon her life and move in with you.
I think I have that right. It's hard to be so attractive, isn't it Mary? In fact, I think today she's done all she can to make herself as hideous as possible to discourage Mr. Banana Head.

Do you know what I remember? I remember that Mary Worth was an accomplished skater who still enjoys the freedom of the ice. If Ken Kensington doesn't get her out on that ice now, he will miss out on the perfect opportunity to win Mary's heart.

If you haven't voted for the Worthy Awards, please do so. And if you figure out a way to vote twice, no one is going to say anything. By the way, the Condo Committee got a call from Ken Kensington's publicist about omitting him from the ballot. Apocalyptic doesn't quite describe the fury, but suffice it to say, he's been added. So all you Nostradamus fans should try to vote again.

I wish today's strip had made it in time for the Worthy Award nominations... extra fingers, talking with food in her mouth, gargoyle eyes... so much to celebrate in today's strip. But now, it's on to the Worthy Award nominations... please vote!

Congratulations to Joe Giella and Karen Moy for a perfect Christmas greeting. I must say today's strip really worked for me. Just a note, however; the children at the shelter represent the diversity in most communities in this country, so let's move forward with a wonderful holiday and a joyous and prosperous New Year.

What does Ken Kensington mean by living off his shows? Does he mean he squirreled enough money away from his career as a musical theatre actor, and is collecting enough through the Actors' Equity Pension Fund, that he can maintain his celebrated lifestyle in New York City? Or did he somehow negotiate a residual royalty for every time some gawky high school senior attempts to impersonate his interpretation of Nostradomus. Because that would be a sweet deal since Nostradomus is one of the most popular high school productions of all time. Right after Hairspray, but ahead of Anything Goes.

A wonderful and diverse throng of Christmas shoppers flock Manhattan on a Sunday morning. I was hoping Mary and Ken had only gotten a slice, but it looks like they bought an entire pie and intend to eat every bite. I was pleased, however, to see that Mary finally decided to use a straw.

I hope everyone has been having a happy holiday season. We have been very busy. Our freshman came home from BYU this morning. She got stranded in Chicago last night and has had quite a few adventures. It's nice to have the family together again.

And please remember to enjoy your FREE secret message by holding your cursor over each image. Merry Christmas, from Buddy the Elf and Joe Giella.

His niche? If you call training your entire life, moving to Manhattan and becoming one of the most celebrated Broadway stars of all time a "niche," then, yeah, New York City works for him.

I can't tell if that is supposed to be some sort of generic soda can, or a paper cup, but either way, the cardinal rule in New York City is ALWAYS USE A STRAW! Mary is going to pick up some kind of bacteria, and it isn't going to be pretty.

I never asked to read Ken Kensington's mind. I really didn't want to read Ken Kensington's mind. But I have. And there's nothing I can do about it now.

That pizza parlor has more menu choices than Penn Station has trains.

This series of New York clichés just doesn't work without "You Make Me Feel So Young" playing in the background.

Oh, Ken, when you first arrived, you were so fresh! So exciting, so new. A mugging! Lunch with a Broadway Legend! Now what? Nothing. You're as dull as her boyfriend back home. Maybe it's time we all moved on to something new.

How about this instead?

Indeed, Ken, there is something about black and white photos. I wonder where we might find some.
