Mary Worth 355

Speed? Jumps? Drama? I can think of something else that's a LOT like skating:

  1. Ok, so Frank likes the speed, jumps and drama of figure skating (something that has been lacking since Nancy Kerrigan, Tanya Harding and Russian judges). How insiteful (I mean prying) of Mary to immediately conclude that his statement means he'd like to get back on the ice himself. Which, of course, is leading up to Frank vicariously living his skating career through his daughter. This after reading the Al Capp parody from the glorious 50's. I don't think I can every forgive Wanders for reminding us what an art form the comics once were. Reading and viewing the current drivel will be that much more painful.

  2. I suppose it is the speed, jumps and drama that attract massive worldwide audiences of passionate fans to every ice rink in the world to thrill to the excitement of figure skating?

Although I suppose in comparison to the glacial pace of life in Santa Royale watching grass growing is full of speed and drama.

  3. I thought it was the speed, jumps and drama of figure skating that encouraged Mary and Frank to wear little black crash helmets in Frank's car, but then I realized it was really another brilliant shading technique!

  4. Panal one make me uneasy--it reminds me of the end of the Aldo Kelrast storyline!

  5. I just want to announce that I have, since Sunday, read all 355 posts, and now understand who Drew is, and the meaning of Cathy's mother. I feel infinitely superior to those who will be running in this Sunday's NY Marathon--they have no idea what real endurance is.

  6. Mary looks like she's wearing a beret. Oui oui, femme d'intervention!

  7. Congrats baha, I know how you feel, I did the same thing a short time ago.

If you want to read the entire Aldo storyline in full it's conveniently laid out here:

I used that as a cheat sheet since I became an MW follower at the beginning of the Drew/Vera storyline, post-Aldo.

  8. Some men are attracted to the sport NOT by the speed, jumps and drama, but by the spangly costumes, makeup, and the post-routine kiss-and-cry. In other words, good chance that Frank is an old-fashioned, deep-in-the-closet gay guy.

That's probably why he blocked her entry into his house: those Tom of Finland prints would have been a dead giveaway.
