No such thing as child safety seats back then! And LOOK, Mary isn't even keeping an eye on the kid. My, how times have changed!

  2. Vicki, that was the very first thing I noticed too! La la la, lets just let the kid hang half his body out the window.... I googled "first car with seat belts" and in 1949 a car company called Nash offered seat belts as an option, and Ford was the second in 1955! A car didn't just come with seat belts until 1959. 10 whole years after this comic ran in the paper. Crazy!

  3. It's obvious that the kid is a comic strip version of cannon fodder.
At least the married couple have stopped (for the time being) calling themselves "Mr." and "Mrs.". What's with that? Did comic audiences of the time have to be reminded that nothing wrong is going on here, folks because they might have instantly assumed impropriety was being tolerated under Mary's watchful eye?

  6. Mary's gettin' ready to meddle in the bankfupt home owners life. Will he be sent to therapy? Is it Bonnie Johnson's Mother?

Don't be shy! I'd love to hear what you have to say about Mary Worth. Just keep it clean, that's all I ask. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY blog. I don't want to moderate comments, but I will if I have to.
