Mary Worth 797

Mary has the good taste and discretion not to suggest out loud that romance does not equal real love. Because Mary never imposes her judgments on others. Romance is fine for a night or two, but in Santa Royale, real love is more like what the Johnsons have: dysfunctional, crippling behaviors that lead to misery and suffering, but you have no more options so you ride it out to the grave. And who wouldn't want that for Jenna and Dr. Mike?

Happy 7-Eleven Day everyone!

  1. I'm not sure about this, but I think the view just outside Mary's window could be considered a varied landscape.

You know, Jenna, I wouldn't tell Mary - that busybody - anything personal, or it'll be all over Santa Royale within minutes. I also wouldn't tell her anything about your clients' problems because they'll be gossip-fodder, too.

The amount of non-professionalism within Santa Royale is amazing.

  3. Sorry, I'm distracted today, wondering how Mary gets her stick-straight hair into that poufy updo every morning. Usually, flat hair stays flat, whether put up or let down, unless...horrors! Is Mary TEASING?

  5. Brick, those are the 'Triffids'mentioned in a comment a few days ago.

  6. Sorry to have missed that comment. Triffids? funny!

  7. Mary seems to have purchased the window backdrop from a now-definct Oren Mills studio.

  8. Mary has a stone tablet on her armchair, a la Moses! Apparently she is stocking up on helpful "Real Love" quotes for the new lovebirds, Jenna & Mike.

@Chester-- Hope your audition goes well!

  9. I thought that stone-tablet-looking-thing was a cement block used to tenderize those seriously underripe pears in the bowl at Mary's elbow. However, you may well be right, Vicki!

  10. Let me get this straight. Romance is just a big, fat excuse not to think about work, but love is real?

  11. @Imogene - Apparently the unripe pears and glass of water have caused Mary to need a "breath of fresh air" to fight off the nausea.
However, I would suggest to Mary that if it's so chilly as to need a "wrap" around her shoulders, perhaps long sleeves are in order.

  12. Compare Mary's face to the Mary face in the blog header. Consider the fact that Mary is wearing what looks to be a 10-year-old girl's dress--from the fifties. There are some serious violations of the time-space continuum going on in Santa Royale.

  13. The BBJ? story was much more interesting, or less dull.

  14. Ding! Ding! Ding! We have our storyline in a nutshell today, folks! It's the "Jenna-is-way-too-clingy" plot. She's already calling Dr. Mike as she fondly pats THE dress she wore on their date.

  15. That's it! She's a lonely girl with no life. She used to fill her empty hours not being able to stop thinking of client problems, which is dull. Now, thanks to Mary, she'll be not able to stop thinking about Mike, which is fun. Good thing for Dr. Mike that he's a shrink.

  16. At Bonnie's next appointment, Jenna will be doodling ''Mike & Jenna 4 Ever!'' in little hearts and ''Dr & Mrs. Mike Roberts, Mrs. Jenna Roberts'' instead of taking notes.

Don't be shy! I'd love to hear what you have to say about Mary Worth. Just keep it clean, that's all I ask. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY blog. I don't want to moderate comments, but I will if I have to.
