I like how Nola's hair, normally combed back, is now covering her right eye. A slightly disheveled look symbolic of her inner turmoil and introspection.
I like to think that Mary is sneaking up behind Nola and is about to whack her with a candlestick. I realize that has nothing to do with the story, but it would be interesting.
Dan Smithers looks a lot better in Nola's remembrance than he did in their encounter: neatly knotted tie, less belly fat, tucked-in shirt. I suppose Nola's weekend recollection of Brownie Hobo will have him looking like Geraldo Rivera.
Worthiverse Law #1764: All flowers MUST be pink.
Word verification was "damint ndomende." Is that what Smithers is yelling at Nola?
In the first panel, Nola is either remembering with advantages, or D-Dan's rehab is already taking place. He is clean-shaven, his tie is neatly knotted, his orange suit is pressed, and he seems to have lost some weight. Still madder'n hell, though.
It's good to see M. Anne Quin making another guest appearance today, in Nola's memory bubble. Her presence adds so much to this story. D-Dan's fist in the air with circling lines is a nice touch.
What's with Mary's deer-in-the-headlights look, anyway?
Googling my anti-robot words "redemo echke" gave me some interesting 'did you mean' options.
If you don't look too closely at the other panel in today's strip, (Raging Smithers and a headless, grasping mannequin in the store window with Nola in the foreground) it looks like Nola is being pursued by zombies. . . . Being eaten by zombies seems a fitting end for Nola in my book.
Don't be shy! I'd love to hear what you have to say about Mary Worth. Just keep it clean, that's all I ask. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY blog. I don't want to moderate comments, but I will if I have to.
Am loving St. Mary's "mirror halo" today.

Thorpnotized, are you okay?
Testing to see if I can give someone an epiphany like the hobo did.
What happens next? Certainly nothing of interest.
ReplyDeleteA giant egg! To go with the giant waffle from Restaurant. Can't wait to see the giant bacon.

ReplyDeleteI believe that Nola is already the living dead.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the hobo is hiring?
ReplyDeleteImagine having lunch with a "friend" who suddenly takes her chair and scoots it 90 degrees away from you. I mean, how rude is THAT!?
ReplyDeleteanonymous 10:24 and meg- LOL, I do see now, even though I 've traveled the lowest of roads.
ReplyDeleteIs that a mirror behind Mary, or a giant halo?
