Mary Worth, 1,326

I'm glad Wilbur and his lovesick daughter are going to renew themselves. It was devastating for them both when Dave dumped Dawn. But soon she and her Dad will be flying kites in Amalfi and frolicking on the beaches of Tuscany. A lovely Father's Day image. On second thought, perhaps I would prefer to watch Mary Worth answer mail.

  1. In a pinch, Mary can always refer someone to an established organization, like the National Institute of Mental Health (NAMBLA).

  2. OK, it's Father's Day, and Wilbur is a really, really good father...or else he's creepy as all get out. Rather than watch the Westons drift around in Giorgio's "empty" villa, watching Mary answer the mail seems preferable.

I'm picturing said villa, btw, as something out of a gothic novel, all picturesque ruin, tattered tapestries and invading vines. Naw, Giella will give it orange sectionals and pink drapes.

  3. Has Wilbur ever seen examples of Mary's writing? Up to now, we've only seen her verbal meddling. How is Mary's grammar? (We know she's well versed in cliches!)

  4. They haven't even discussed monetary compensation and it's obvious Mary needs to pay her electric bill!

  5. Renew themselves? I didn't know they had expired.

  6. Aristotle must be so proud to have his words applied to the fate of the "Ask Wendy" column

  7. I'm digging the sudden switch to film noir in this panel.

Don't be shy! I'd love to hear what you have to say about Mary Worth. Just keep it clean, that's all I ask. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY blog. I don't want to moderate comments, but I will if I have to.
