Mary Worth 1,375

It's a good thing Wilbur and Dawn caught that helicopter. None of the lifeboats seem to have made it off the ship.

  1. Why should it seem so strange to Dawn that she is happy to see the ground? Had she contemplated a life at sea, drifting in aimless luxury and pining over Dave? Well, she may be seeing the ground, or more specifically, those rocks, sooner than expected. The Barbie helicopter seems dangerously tail-heavy.

  2. Heck, they could see the ground from the ship. But what frightening sight is the Keno in the background beholding?

  3. Move Wilbur to the middle; gotta balance that payload.

Oh, but then wouldn't that be the greatest plot twist?!? They go down and have to be rescued all over again!

  4. It looks like the ship is going to go all the way under. If the water is deep enough for the Unita del Mare to completely sink, it must have hit something besides a rock (as the Costa Concordia did). Of course, it was never explained what it was the captain of the Unita del Mare "didn't see", so I guess we'll never know.

  5. I just love the expression in the eyes of the BurlyKeno looking over the shoulder of Wilbur in the other panel. It's as if he's saying, "Are these people serious? OF COURSE they are happy to see THE GROUND! And we haven't even LANDED ON IT YET! Please help me to get away from them as quickly as possible once we do."

Sigh. I'm sure I don't have to resort to The Google to find out if M&G have ever won any awards for MW. I'm guessing...NOT.

  6. Cruising along the coast, couldn't she see the ground from the ship? And not only didn't the life boats get off the ship but apparently the 4000 or so other passengers didn't make it either.

  7. I find nobody in this strip to be a suitable candidate for not exploding.

  8. Maybe all 4,000 passengers are on the helicopter and it's further away then we are thinking.

Don't be shy! I'd love to hear what you have to say about Mary Worth. Just keep it clean, that's all I ask. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY blog. I don't want to moderate comments, but I will if I have to.
