NEXT WEEK: Shall we empty our trays into the trash receptacles before we get some air? Yes, you go first. No, why don't you go first. OK, I will. There, my tray is empty. Now it's your turn. Right, now my tray is empty, too. Shall we place the empty trays on this stack of used trays now? Yes, let's do that. Then let's go get some air.
Dawn is awfully naive (read: dumb) to leave the safe confines of Mountview Hospital to take some air with someone she just met. I guess she thinks an Aryan With One Arm poses no threat to her, an able-bodied girl with a partial junior college education and volunteer orientation class under her belt.
Also--Dawn is insensitive to hold up her arm and check her wristwatch. Yikes.
Yeah, I don't really take this volunteering nonsense all that seriously. I was just hoping to find my new Dave at lunch. You know, some day I'm actually going to figure out how to open one of these little cartons.
Jim's traumatic experience has led him to develop an alternative personality, based on the one-armed man in "The Fugitive". He was trolling the hospital cafeteria looking for Dr. Kimble's wife--but Dawn will do. Yes, Dawn will do.
Thanks, Wanders, for alerting us to the sad anniversary. Perhaps Mary sits quietly in a darkened room, listening to an old Peter Paul and Mary song on her iPod...
...I should have loved you better Didn't mean to be unkind. You know that was the last thing On my mind...
Except Mary doesn't have an iPod, and has never heard of PP&M.
Just like the Kennedy assination, Princess Di's death and 911, we all remember where we were when we learned that Aldo went over that cliff. If only there had been guardrails, he might still be stalking today.
Oh Fauxprof, I was also reminded of The Fugitive! That TV show was based on Les Miserables. Now when the big-screen adaptation comes out in Dec., I won't think of Victor Hugo or the Broadway musical. I'll think of Karen Moy -- and curse her for ruining another classic!
Thought I was going into rage-induced apoplexy with today's grinding strip. But then there was Aldo going over the cliff, and I smiled and smiled and smiled...
The tray he's carrying, I'm no physics expert but I'm pretty sure that it's too awkward to be carried correctly with just one hand. Especially if it's metal.
Don't be shy! I'd love to hear what you have to say about Mary Worth. Just keep it clean, that's all I ask. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY blog. I don't want to moderate comments, but I will if I have to.

ReplyDeleteSTRANGER DANGER!
ReplyDeleteDawn is awfully naive (read: dumb) to leave the safe confines of Mountview Hospital to take some air with someone she just met. ReplyDeleteDawn must be extremely nearsighted to have to hold her watch that close to her face to check the time...
ReplyDeletePoor Aldo! I still grieve for you, my handsome Captain-Kangaroo-lookalike love!
ReplyDeleteI can see the wheels in Dawn's head spinning (and it's not just that hamster propelling it all....)
ReplyDeleteShe's thinking: "hmm... here's one guy who won't leave me; a one-armed man who'll know he's lucky to have me!"
(I never used to be this cynical... I blame YOU, Ms. Moy!)

ReplyDelete"That's a great idea, Jim. Let's go out and get some arm... I mean air! Sorry.... "
ReplyDeleteTell me again: what did Dawn learn this summer?
ReplyDeleteWARNING! Buzzy Feelings ahead! Beware of Varied Landscapes!
ReplyDelete(RIP, Aldo. Six years have gone by?..how time flies.)
"Hey Jim, did I tell you what my favorite book is? It's A Farewell to Arms. What's yours?"

ReplyDeleteI think Dawn's time might be better-spent going home and working on her roots. Just sayin'.

ReplyDeleteAldo was the smartest one, years ago, getting out of Mary Worth.
