"It was important to me that I see you... so I can grab your smartphone and personally throw it into the ocean. NOW LEAVE ME ALONE!"

  1. Oh, dear, he's one of those dreaded "close talkers". That's a deal-breaker right there, let alone the pointing. Really, the people of Santa Royale need an emergency visit from Miss Manners. Recently, Dawn was seen pointing at Mary with a FORK! I know what my Mom would have said...

  3. I feel like at least eleventy thousand panels will occur before either Jim or Dawn mentions The New Arm.

    If it happens at all.

  4. "By the way, when the doctors attached my bionic arm, they implanted chest hair, too. Don't I look more manly?!"

  5. In the first panel, it looks like Jim has a ribbon around his hair and chin.

  6. I sure hope Uncle Joe is well compensated. He works so much harder than Moy.

  7. I love how Mary Worth is just a festival of people making assumptions about other peoples' motivations, feelings, thoughts, etc. . . Jim shows up at the pier because he thinks Dawn wants nothing to do with him because of a. his arm or b. his PTSD about the ferry dock. Look, fool, she TOLD you she just wants to be friends. If anything, the fact that he shows up with this "See, I have changed!" act would make me want to run for the hills. Super creepy. But Dawn is also indulging a penchant for assumption with the two-bit psychoanalysis of Jim she cobbled together after Psych 101 class. None of this is healthy. Beware, readers...Of course, if it weren't for the ongoing neurosis of these characters, I would be missing the voyeuristic thrill I get each morning, to say nothing of the feeling of superiority. . .

  9. Now that Jim has two arms will he remind Dawn of Dave?

  10. Jim came around and seems to enjoy THE PIER now. I predict that Dawn will do a 180 also and fall in love with Jim. What's this I hear? Are these the sweet sounds of wedding bells off in the distance?

  11. Why did Jim go looking for Dawn at THE PIER? If he had called or texted her, Moy could have postponed their reunion at least until Sunday.

  12. So if Dawn falls for Jim now that he has an arm, is it because Jim has a changed outlook on life or because Dawn is shallow?

    Nevermind.

If we're lucky, the two will quickly get married, preferably eloping and taking a cruise for a honeymoon. We rarely hear much from characters that get married once married.

  13. Thank you, Dave in Parma, for my first laugh of the day.

And he does it with far more creative energy.

  15. @Dave in Parma: you're right. Marriage is that unknown realm from whence none return to the Worthiverse. When's the last time we saw Dr. Adrian and whatsisname the cop?

Maybe that's why Mary won't say yes to poor Jeff. She doesn't want either of them to slip through the rift in the space-time continuum. However, I'm in favor of that fate for Dawn.

  16. Actually I think Jim is talking to who he believes is Merry, not Dawn.

  17. I like your Dr. Jeff getting spurned by Mary theory Fauxprof-- she realizes a marriage 'yes' = a 'yes' to forced obsolescence.

  18. @KathyO I believe it's that wild hair strand we saw worming its way out of his skull yesterday. Apparently it's decided to reattach under his chin.
