Well, Jeff is getting written out of the story for a while. And Wilbur is writing Ask Wendy again. The pawns are being positioned for something big. Some major shift in the Worthiverse is coming people. I can feel it in my trembling bones. Now, when do we go to the Bum Boat?
The seagulls followed Mary from Tucson. Will they accompany her on her new journey? "I'm sorry, Jeff. I too am going on a trip" sounds more ominous than just visiting Dear Old Shelley Cohen in New York. Does Mary have a terminal disease?
ReplyDeleteThat Dr. Jeff, he's just a willing sponge for rejection...
ReplyDelete@KitKat--I think it's just Mary being passive-aggressive. She wants to make HER trip seem more important or whatever.
Yes, Wanders, the artwork in today's panel is very good. Kudos to Uncle Joe. (Not a floating head in sight.)
ReplyDeleteI'm disappointed that Jeff's news didn't involve a rich divorcee. After all of Mary's rejections, he's certainly earned some excitement.
I eagerly await Chin Napkin's performance at the Bum Boat.
ReplyDelete@KitKat--Oh, she's going to New York, you can bet on that. DO Shelley Cohen is her latest Project. Now, what will Mary have to teach her?

4. You're never too old to open a combination Yoga Studio/Cake Design School.
#3 & #4--See what I did there?

ReplyDeleteThis marks Mary's third trip to New York in a few years..unless Shelley Cohen lives in a retirement community in...Miami!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see I'm not the only one who immediately assumed that Mary's off to Manhattan to hook dear ol' Shelly up with John Dill. Let's just hope that she doesn't stay at the Sarah Cragmore Hotel for Women...
ReplyDeleteSince DO Shelly's e-mail came from New York, is it a fair assumption that DO Shelly is also there? Perhaps DO Shelly is a widow, and Mary will introduce her to John Dill, a widower. They will instantly fall in love, and John will bake the pinkest wedding cake imaginable.
ReplyDeleteAnd then there are Bobby and Gina...
I don't suppose we will follow Jeff and Drew to Vietnam, where we will hear a gritty tale of the horrors of war, loss and redemption! I suppose we will have to follow Mary on her visit to Shelly, where she gives her a copy of "Love, and other stories" and then tells her everything that has happened since the last time they met...in 1863!
ReplyDeleteIf I was John Dill, I think I'd be mad that Mary wouldn't go to New York with him, but after one e-mail is off to the big apple for Shelly!
I look forward to all the floating heads Mary will see out the window of the airplane as she flies to New York.

ReplyDeleteRemind me: how do you spell 'gack'?
ReplyDeleteWell there's Dr. Jeff's latest walk attempt at a proposal. Too bad Mary is planning another LSD trip.
