  1. Thanks, Wanders, I always look forward to this. I had to make several hard choices amid so much bounty.

On a side note, after looking at so many panels from the past year, it seems as if, for the last few days, someone else has been drawing the strip. There are differences, particularly in the faces. Comments, gang?

We've seen shifts in style like that before. It could just be because of using clip art or new meds for Uncle Joe.

  3. fauxprof--I was thinking the same thing today. I wonder if JG is away for the holidays and an assistant is drawing, or perhaps a new artist is slowly taking the reins.

wanders--thanks for doing the worthies. so much fun!

  5. Nice selection Wanders - always brings a smile to my face. I wish that the Pax Resort panel of the year nominee had some desert gulls in it - that would be icing on the [pink] cake.

  6. Uncle Joe is working on his art after a dip of eggnog perhaps?

  7. I'm excited to be able to vote for the Worthy Awards this year. Wanders has provided quite the smorgasbord for citizens of the community.

  8. Wonderful choices! One small thing - I see no option for selecting K2 as Outstanding Guest Character. I agree that perhaps a different artist has been drawing the past week or so.

  9. While initially I was sad that neither of my two favorite characters - Chin Napkin or the Ants- got a nod, I quickly reminded myself that Garbo never got an Oscar. At least there's pleny of recognition of the enigmatic splendor that was John Dill.

(If Mary ties the knot with K2, maybe he'll still be in Manhattan and bake the cake!)

  11. Wanders, thank you for providing this 2013 Review of the Worthiverse! So many options - voting was not easy. I also noted again the resemblance between Elinor Kinley and DOSC - yikes.

Well, I'd better get to Nordstrom Rack to buy my attire for the Worthy Awards ceremony!

  12. Maybe it's just my whacky web browser, but I can't seem to vote for Ken Kensington. He's a late comer, but between his hair style, his tour guidance and instance Mary obsession make him my favorite.

  13. How about a new category for next year: plot with the most potential for interesting developments that died on the vine? My vote would go to TomDear/BethDear/MotherDearest.

  14. I think @Mary'sHairHelmet at3:40 p.m. is on to something. I'd vote for Iris's felon son, Tommy, moving into his mother's Charterstone digs.

Of course, life in the Worthiverse presents limitless categories for awards...

  15. Seeing Aggie again was lovely! Now THERE is a character that had so much promise, but just left us twisting in the wind. All the really good ones disappear like that.

  16. Wanders, you've reminded us that this has been a very busy year. I forgot all about Tom/Beth Dear, but was delighted to see Elinor's dream sequence again.

Who would think that the Floating Head category would be the hardest to choose!

Thanks for another Worthy winner, Wanders!

  18. I think that the "Giella Three" are home on Christmas break and have taken over for Uncle Joe until after the New Year!

  19. I do regret that "Mary shakes hand with black man" did not make the cut. It makes me laugh thinking about it.

Don't be shy! I'd love to hear what you have to say about Mary Worth. Just keep it clean, that's all I ask. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY blog. I don't want to moderate comments, but I will if I have to.
