Mary Worth 1813

If Tommy thought having his mother hassle him about getting a job was a drag, he is really going to need therapy to get Mary out of his head.

  1. Perhaps all Tommy's problems can be traced back to his being violently shaken by Iris when he was a baby.

  2. Is Tommy a hermaphrodite? In the last panel he looks especially girly, except for the burgeoning chest hair, which is pulling down the neckline of his shirt.

Having Wilbur Westen as your "in" at Jerry's Sandwich Shop is as low as it gets.

  3. @Yahoonski--I think, given Tommy's huge sense of entitlement, the worst Iris ever did to him was send him to time out in his room equipped with a TV, Nintendo and mini fridge.

  4. Tommy slips into a dissociative state as his mother shakes him. Meanwhile, Mary has become an introject. As his intrusive thoughts of her grow, so do his bangs.

Why is Mary's floating head yellow? Is it because she's regarding Tommy's efforts at reform with a jaundiced eye? (wink, wink, nudge, nudge)

  7. Are we supposed to think that Tommy's blank, black eyes mean he has been hypnotized? If so, that is some influential shaking going on!
