Mary: Olive, will you help me to keep those pesky unicorns from eating the roses? Those animals have been a real nuisance the last few months. And tomorrow I can take you over to Dr. Jeff's house where we can watch TV. Won't that be interesting?
"Mr. Allora tends our grounds very well! Well, not really. Despite being one of those people who are good at things like landscaping and picking fruit, Mr. Allora's skills are not up to my standards. So I have to monitor the roses."
How hard is it to draw a "bed of roses"? I used to draw a garden of flowers all the time when I was a kid, and mine looked way better than ... whatever that thing is supposed to be.
I'm just glad that Tommy Beedie is all settled in at Jerry's, ogling a pretty waitress and serving as payback for Wilbur's favour. That storyline really had me on edge.
So nice that instead of spreading the rose bushes around the condo complex so everyone can enjoy the roses on a daily basis, residents have to take a field trip to the "rose farm" (which looks more like a lettuce patch than anything else).
But, poor Olive. What a deprived childhood she must be having if something this bland can cause such delight.
Silly. That's all these "stories" are. Just plain silly. *sigh*
Olive is obviously playing Mary. She is part of an elaborate plot to scam demented senior citizens. Why else show excitement over rose beds that aren't even there?
"And here we have our roses. See how I've pruned them back so that not a single flower remains and all that is left are stubby thorn covered branches, Olive? There's a lesson for you there. Oh yes, quite a lesson indeed..."
Don't be shy! I'd love to hear what you have to say about Mary Worth. Just keep it clean, that's all I ask. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY blog. I don't want to moderate comments, but I will if I have to.
Ah, the rare Santa Royale green rose, that blends in with the foliage so completely it cannot be sen.

ReplyDeleteMaybe Tommy sold the roses to supplement his income now that drugs are off the table.

ReplyDeleteMary and Olive hallucinate together, as the giant broccoli forest marches menacingly toward them.
