Mary Worth 1860

Actually, Olive, Mary couldn't hear you because you were underwater. Every time you called out to her, your lungs filled with more water, and within minutes you were unconscious. As soon as Mary gets you out of the pool, she will try to administer mouth-to-mouth resuscitation in a desperate attempt to get you to start breathing again. Let's hope for the best. I'm sure you'll be fine.

Well, Olive, guess what? This still doesn't get you out of having that tumor lopped off by Dr. Kapuht.

In fact, since you had to be such a runaway smarty-pants, your parents have arranged to have Dr. Kapuht do the surgery without anesthesia.

  3. The shared "Gasp!" is another example of Mary and Olive's strong connection. Thus, there's abundant evidence that the neglectful Evy and Ed should surrender their parental rights to Mary. Olive will become Mary's acolyte and apprentice meddler (the Flower Fairies and Angel are big-time assets for meddling). Evy and Ed will return to New York smiling.

  4. @Drowny Drowenstein--Exactly! What epiphany will this provide regarding Olive's predicament? Will Evy and Eddie now say, "Wow. I guess since Olive ran straight into the pool and got saved by Mary Worth, she must be right about that doctor?" Based upon what? They weren't there for Olive's precognitive display on their walk, and she didn't tell them about it, nor did Mary.

I guess it's up to the Flower Fairies after all.

  5. @Nance & Drowny--You're right, what does this whole week-long episode accomplish other then to fill a week's worth of time? And forget about Kapuht being evil; he's a specialist. How many torso-cyst specialists can there be in Santa Royal to choose from? It's seems more like, "Ok, Olive, you can keep your cyst."

I can't wait to see what kind of splainin' Mary's going to do at Olive's apartment at 2 am. Should take at least a week of strips.

I would of rather of seen a plot something like this: ...just as Mary and Olive come up for air, Ed pulls the big plug at the bottom of the pool and Mary and Olive go down the drain. Ed and Evy live happily ever after.

  7. Good News! The cyst was merely a dried-up strawberry Froot Loop, which was washed away in the pool. (Olive also stays away from bath tubs, so the froot loop had been stuck there for some time.) No wonder Olive thinks Dr. K is a bad doctor.

  8. I think years ago Dr. Kahput started out at our local hospital's ER. True story-- A friend of mine's little daughter bumped her head and they thought they should take her to the ER just to be safe. The young doctor Looked at the X-ray, got super excited and immediately called Life Flight to transport her to a trauma hosptial. The doctor showed the dad the "mass" he was seeing on the x-ray. The dad said, "That's IT!?!?" He told his wife, "c'mon...we're leaving!!" The dad could clearly see the "mass" was nothing more than a thumprint on the film!!!
