This is a rather redundant statement. Somewhat akin to: "Because of my car, I have a vehicle," or "Because of our large house, we have a domicile," or "Because of this comic strip, I waste a lot of time."
Mary: "Because of our close friendship, Olive and I have a connection. Unlike you and I, Toby, especially since you're obviously getting the Charterstone gossip from another source! Is it that blabbermouth Wilbur?"
We need no further evidence how closely Mary and Olive are connected: the Seagulls of Smarminess are swooping over Mary and Olive as they keep on keeping on.
Sadly, today I learned that Goleta, CA actually exists while reading a story of a tragic killing of his family by an obviously disturbed man. I will never be able to think of Emily Smith's story the same way again.
I did enjoy today's strip, though; the way the panels are put together, it looks like Mary and Olive were taking a walk and then Mary pushed Olive into the LaBrea Tar Pits.
Oh, the horror! Mary's hand appears to be breaking through her two-dimensional world into my three-dimensional one. She's coming for all of us snarkers to finally silence us and ... gaack, aaack, get her off me! chhhh, ssssssssss ........
Don't be shy! I'd love to hear what you have to say about Mary Worth. Just keep it clean, that's all I ask. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY blog. I don't want to moderate comments, but I will if I have to.

Hee! "Seagulls of Smarminess" ! Must maintain a watchful presence for them.
ReplyDeleteBecause of her deformity, Olive has a spork for an arm.
ReplyDeleteNot that it makes any difference, of course...
