"I'm particularly fond of the Charterstone children."

  1. I'm not ready for Zappa quotes in my morning read of Mary Worth. I don't think I ever will be.

  2. Karen Moy must pore over her Big Book o' Quotations all week to come up with these Sunday zingers.

Has Mr. Giella seen a set of car keys within the past few decades? Mary's keys look like the keys to my dad's 1976 LTD.

Does the "other amenities" offered by Somerset include proximity to a cemetery? Mary is strong-arming Hanna into oblivion.

  3. In the first throwaway panel. Mary is terrifying Hanna by sticking her head out through the windshield. She has the front seats jacked so far forward that Hanna has to hit the ceiling to avoid doing the same thing.

  4. If Hanna likes to be around other age groups, why doesn't she move in with her daughter and grandson? She'll get to mingle with two generations.

And why doesn't Charterstone have a shuttle service? They don't pay for a lifeguard, so there should be money from residents' fees for a used van.

  5. Is that a straitjacket Hanna is wearing in panel one, or did Dr. Evil lend her his Nehru jacket?

  6. Here's a Frank Zappa quotation for you, Hanna. . . "I might be moving to Montana soon. . . "

  9. Monday

I wondered where all the Somerset inmates...er, residents...and the staff might be. Then I remembered that Broadway Legend Ken Kensington was scheduled to perform a medley from "Nostradamus" in the lounge.

  10. Oh, yes, the lobby looks good--and deserted. That's because the residents are kept heavily sedated in their closet-sized, windowless rooms.

  11. What would be really great would be for Hanna to somehow pull a fast one, get Mary committed to Somerset against her will, and go blithely on her way back to Charterstone, driving Mary's car and running over Ian's toes on her way into the parking lot.

  12. Mary's just salivating at the prospect of getting Hanna out of Charterstone ASAP.

What's best for Hanna is of no concern as long as "Mary the Magnificent" is not inconvenienced any further. Felicia's speech pattern the other day clearly suggests either Somerset brainwashes their residents or she's been heavily medicated enough that she automatically spews the PR script each resident is forced to memorize lest 'privileges' are taken away (like getting their Coumadin, etc.)

Run Hanna! Run while you can!!

Don't be shy! I'd love to hear what you have to say about Mary Worth. Just keep it clean, that's all I ask. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY blog. I don't want to moderate comments, but I will if I have to.
