Mary Worth 1965

With her new Google Glass eye wear, Hanna will have no problem staying one step ahead of Amy's efforts to thwart her relationship.

Today's Full Strip

  1. Maybe because I've been in medical facilities for almost a month, but I'm worried about Amy. One side of her face seems to be drooping, and while she may be talking to her mother, she's sure not focusing on her. Does Santa Royale have 911?

  2. Let's be cautious, lest I lose my free babysitter.

  3. I'm worried, too, fauxprof! Amy has one blue eye and one brown eye in today's strip! Maybe she's morphing into David Bowie?

  4. Hanna is morphing into E.T. Why does that seem to happen to so many characters in this strip?!?

  5. Cubist Amy, after the Boxing Day Slitheen version, is almost enough to convince me that Giella is playing with her.

    Almost.

  6. I'm focusing on the people in the framed photos. Is that Anne Bancroft with a ventriloquist's dummy?

The steam seems to come and go from panel to panel. Today, no steam from the cup in the first panel, but plenty of steam in the second. Perhaps the steam is an indication that Amy is so riled up at her mother, excessive body heat from her hand is boiling her beverage.

  7. You beat me to it, KitKat, but I must say, the combination of the sudden steam, the googly blue eye, the parade cliché, and our glimpse into Amy's despicable motivation all combine to make this a memorable panel.

  8. Jane Seymour (actress) has one brown eye and one blue eye, but I feel that she wears it much better.

I am, however, so envious of the tower of whipped cream on that mug. Say what you will about Hanna's character, flirting skills, or eye for interior decorating, but her deft hand at topping a cup is unmatched.

  9. Hanna Dingdon is just the most fascinating character that this strip has ever produced. I am hanging on her every word!

  10. Our guest artist for today's panel two is the great Salvador Dali.

  11. My wife had knee replacement surgery yesterday. She commented to the the admissions clerk that she hoped the rest of her experience would go as smoothly as the admissions process had been. The clerk actually said: "Oh yes, it will be easey peasey." (I couldn't believe my ears!) We should have left right then and there, and maybe re-scheduled. Her planned spinal block "did not work" so they had to operate under general anesthesia. The surgery does seem to have gone well enough, but her recovery time was longer and more difficult. Then when I finally went to get my car to go home, the valet parking service had "misplaced" it. Not a terribly good day, but I'm sure Dr. Kapuht was smiling . . .

  12. WEDNESDAY

It's pretty hypocritical of Amy Dingdon to criticize her mother for dating men she hardly knows. Where's the self-awareness?

  13. Amy's hair has grown a lot between yesterday and today, maybe because of her raging emotions.
