  2. Adam's winning of Terry's heart is conditional. He'll have to arrange a continuing series of heart-stopping confrontations to keep her interest. (The presence of firearms is a plus.) Disputes over a space in the Charterstone parking lot will not cut it, even if they involve Ian Cameron and a bagpipe.

  3. Great way to start out a relationship, you guys! Just as my wife and I handled things lo those many years ago:
"We both know I'm the better cook!" "We both know I'm better at the budget" "We both know I'm better ! All successful relationships are build upon knowing who is better at each task and making sure the other knows it. Write it down. (Wait, don't...I'm better at writing and we both know it!)

  4. Charterstone's newly engaged couple has been enjoying the water for a week now. How are they not both shriveled into prunes?

  5. Oh, Lord. Seeing only the first panel, I had serious fears that despite the trademark Mary-Toby wrapup, this storyline was not in fact over and we would see some sort of racing-dangerously-in-the-condo-pool disaster that would take up the next six months or so. Happily, that second panel does feel rather valedictory, and perhaps tomorrow we'll have a nice off-topic Sunday strip and then start off anew on Monday.

Speaking of off-topic, I've noticed something about our own condo pool (which actually does feature summertime condo pool parties - we go just in the hopes of finding Charterstone-style drama, so far unsuccessfully, although we do giggle a lot): large signs about the dangers of holding one's breath underwater. We lived overseas for fifteen years or so, and this seems new and odd to me here in the U.S. of A; is it some new trauma or specific tragedy that we missed?

  6. If the formula holds as the Sean/Hanna plot did, tomorrow's strip could attempt to wrap up with Terry and Adam at the zoo. But then the possibility of a wild animal escape thwarted by the happy couple came to mind...

  7. Don't know the answer to your question, Muscato, but surely it's safer to hold your breath underwater than it is to try to breathe underwater. Hey, maybe we can get Adam and Terry to conduct an experiment. Mary and Toby, too!

  8. Sunday, July 26: Great question, Toby; we were wondering the same thing. And Mary, your response couldn't be more accurate.

  9. Panel 2 looks like Adam is double dipping it: Grecian Formula AND Prosac, No..that's not it....Rogaine! If my hair grew that quickly I wouldn't be bald today. One good thing about that is at least I didn't go grey first.
