Mary Worth 2156

Loyal citizen TKraft sure called it. This is beginning to look more and more like that story about the two cops who were in love and how the boy cop had to win the girl cop back so they rode a hot air balloon and beat up a mugger. Only in Ian's case, he's going to play the bagpipes for her and yell at an aggressive driver. Ah, love. It isn't for everyone.

Today's full strip

  2. Why is a framed photograph of a white-haired, white-bearded man wearing a black necktie on display in the first panel? Is some funny business between Mary and Ian going on? (I wish! THAT would be fascinating.) Maybe the photo is of the late Dear Jack, or Ken Kensington, although Ken had yellow hair.

"Whether we go forward together...is something I have to decide by myself." So much for togetherness.

  3. On the upside, Ian's mossy green jacket is beginning to look quite shabby. Perhaps it will fall apart of its own volition.

  4. Never mind the towel, Ian. It's time to throw in the jacket.

  5. Okay... I'm no fan of Ian. I do think he was inconsiderate and devaluing but it seems just a bit of an over-reaction to think about divorce without at least trying couples' therapy UNLESS he's been behaving this way throughout their relationship and the recent episode was the last straw.

  6. Given Toby's attitude, I believe I missed some strips....you know, the ones about Ian's physical abuse, his infidelity and his porn addiction.

  7. I just want Toby to finalize her biggest decision - whether to part her hair in the middle or on the side.

  8. What's with the scribbles on her cheek? Mixing up the blush and the eye pencil? Or is it a bruise?!?!

  9. @Chin Napkin Groupie -- it was far, far worse than abuse. He didn't show proper deference to her Play-Doh horsies! No punishment is too severe!!

  10. I'm no fan of Ian, but he should take Toby's decision away from her and decide on his own that it's over.

Ooh, a pajama party! Girls just want to have fun. @Delilah at 9:38 a.m., Mary's mug contains Kahlua.

  13. Her decision will be made when Mary asks her to pay her share of the rent and grocery budget, and to take on the doorknob polishing.

Mary's passive-aggressive comment of the day:
"There, there, dear. I'm glad you forgave Ian! Now, please take your grubby feet off my couch. And move back a bit, please, I feel like you're going to pounce!"

  15. I have to decide on MY OWN if WE are going to do this TOGETHER. Sorry Ian, I can tell you from experience that couples therapy isn't going to work.
