Mary Worth 2355

This is the second Beadie break up at Jerry's Sandwich Shop, so I'm not sure it's the romantic hot spot everybody claims. But I sure like how they have remodeled! Things are looking much better at Jerry's.

Today's full strip

  1. Joe's improvement in drawing since being taken off Sunday's seems to have run out. Everybody is developing pinchface, and Tommy in panel 2 is full on Slitheen.

    Nice backgrounds, though.

  2. What? What country are you from? What? What? Wh - ?
What ain't no country I've ever heard of. They speak English in What?

  3. The look of despair is aggravated by the droop of Tommy's hair.

  4. Tina: I was trying to be gentle, but since you're being dense, you're a dead-end loser, you still live with your mother, you have a stupid haircut and you smell bad. Plus, you keep calling me "Babe", and I've told you how much I hate that. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm late for my yoga class with an educated gentleman.

    Tommy: What?!?

  5. I think Tina's response to Tommy's "What?" is hilarious...for Karen Moy. After all, the humor bar in this strip is perpetually really, really low.

Tina looks just like the Barbie doll I had in my girlhood. Maybe she's tossing Tommy aside for Ken.

  6. Memories of the doctor and the hospital administrator who would not let go. I forgot their names...

I'm certain Tommy will accept Tina Baby's decision with the maturity we have come to expect from him.

  8. Tommy must get his hair cut by the same person who cuts Dawn's hair.

Break-up! YESSSS! Tommy, DAWN awaits!!! (Plus, your hairstyles match, so you'll look even more couple-ish! ... And I *LURVE* the pseudo-incestual vibe of your future relationship! It will really irritate Iris AND Wilbur!)

I think the weekday art is really improving! The artist has kicked it up a notch! BAM!

  10. Tina Baby looks just like Mary Old Bag.

  11. @meg: OMG! You're right! I bet "Tina" really IS meth, and this is all just a sick fever-dream of Tommy's as he lies prone on the lumpy couch in Iris's living room, indulging his non-family friendly fantasies of ... MARY!!!

How will Mary meddle THIS problem away?

  12. I'm hoping Tommy goes Aldo Kelrast on her.

Gosh, Tommy is really pretty in P2. He must have been very popular in stir.

  16. Saturday
Tina will be filled with regret when Tommy becomes the new, hot model for Dutch Boy Paints.

  17. @KitKat, ROFL!!

Tommy is stunned. He thought all females were supposed to be co-dependent enablers like Mommie dearest Iris. Way to go Tina, you can do a heckuva lot better.

Oooh! I found a strip with Iris in the classroom as a student! It's here:

Interestingly enough, Iris vows never to let Tommy get back onto drugs, yet she is the one who gave him the Vicodin! (Cue dramatic music.)

(Iris, of course, is not paying attention in class and will later try to cheat off of Dawn Weston on the test ...)

  19. Hey, I think I'm on to something here. Remember last Saturday (CVS in the background; Tina's lovely but questionable hairstyle) when we all remarked on how Uncle Joe was stepping up his game? I'm thinking that maybe, June is slowly sinking her claws (sorry, June, I meant pencils) into Uncle Joe's territory. I know we've all become accustomed to characters changing their faces on a daily basis, but when has a character ever changed their hairstyle? Am I right? Note that Tina is now sporting the Uncle Joe, ponytail special.

Don't be shy! I'd love to hear what you have to say about Mary Worth. Just keep it clean, that's all I ask. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY blog. I don't want to moderate comments, but I will if I have to.
