Dude, you got to stop asking her out in person. Twenty-five-year-old guys just don't. You've got her number - text her. Those guys at the table are enjoying a perfectly normal conversation with each other using Snapchat.
Hey... that's not right. Just as I was enjoying the return of my green-eyed fantasy man, I read today's secret message telling me that my chances for a late-in-life romance are slimmer than that of Dr. Jeff! Harsh, Wanders, harsh....
Please tell me that she's going to get Mary's advice on this one. Will Mary guilt her into staying age appropriate for Tommy's sake or will she tell Iris to rip right into that bag of Purina Cougar Chow before she does it herself?
I really hope Zak stays around long enough for Wilbur to find out. I want to see how the world traveler takes to the news. Maybe Dawn will keep him posted.
Just where IS Mary? Is she slowly being written out of the strip? Seems like we've seen more of Iris and other supporting cast members than Mary during 2016.
If Iris does confide in Mary, the advice will be recycled from the Dawn/Harlan episode: "pursue other interests". Which, come to think of it, sounds like something from a magic eight ball or a fortune cookie. At least with the fortune cookie you get something mildly sweet and suggested lottery numbers.
Mary is back, offering hospitality and raisin scones. I'd have to turn her down right there, because of an antipathy to raisins...and to Mary's advice. I see that Iris is making a stab at a slighty less matronly style today.
Don't be shy! I'd love to hear what you have to say about Mary Worth. Just keep it clean, that's all I ask. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY blog. I don't want to moderate comments, but I will if I have to.

ReplyDeleteThat Zak guy is one hunka hunka burnin' love..
ReplyDeleteWho wouldn't want to date a dish whose outfit complements the CAFE sign, privacy fence, and the umbrellas?
ReplyDeleteSo classy!

ReplyDeleteEither June is recycling previous drawings or that vested girl has been starring at her phone for at least an hour without moving.
ReplyDeleteI suspect Iris will either (1) run into Mary, spill the beans on Zak, and ask for Mary's advice, or (2) write to Ask Wendy. Ugh.

Zak turned into a Hemsworth, Mary is turning into Dame Helen Mirren, and Iris is wearing Robin Hood drag.
ReplyDeleteMary is not only back, but sort of, almost, showing some cleavage. BTW, "Purina Cougar Chow": Bravo, Doug!
ReplyDeleteHey Iris, on Friday you glumly told Boy Toy Zak that Tommy needed to get a life, so why are you so perky today?
ReplyDeleteThat's a Scary Mary face in p. 2. "Oh goodie, a fresh victim! Good thing I dumped those dried-up raisins into those scones!"
