Uh-Oh! Is KM about to violate Wanders' family-friendly policy? I won't go there. Maybe Zak just wants her to wear his high school ring on a chain around her neck.
I vote for KitKat's comment. Nothing says "serious relationship" like taking on someone else's debt. Zak could also ask Iris to adopt him so he can stay on her health insurance until age 26 (for now)...Of course, that IS just one more year for Zak, although it could be a long one in the Worthiverse.
Told you he wouldn't know who Bogie was. By the way, for some reason the Comics Curmudgeon is showing tomorrow's strip today, and I must say all of our guess about the next (hilarious)step were wrong (unless Josh is punking us).
@Yahoonski at 10:51 AM, it's Thursday already?! Someone's messing with the space-time continuum. And, I did not see that one coming, even though I have some co-workers who do that.
Having spent time around young adult folks for awhile as part of my employment, my guess is that Zak will want to move forward with what all my young associates seem to be obsessed with and that is a tattoo. The young adults/students I work with are not the most highly paid part time staff, but they are completely willing to spend relatively outrageous amounts of their money on various 'artistic' swirlies and obscure runic inkings. Zak will no doubt interpret 'Iris' in his tattoo. Iris will go with 'Tommy'. Or perhaps Zak will have 'Bogey' tattooed on his bicep, leading to a tender round of golf.
@tkraft-you nailed it! Zak wants his -n-hers tattoos. I would love her to get one and have to explain to Wilbur who's Zak and she comes up with a hilarious explanation, like it's a secret ingredient she has to remember to put on one of Wilbur's favorite sandwiches.
True story: My ex-boyfriend gave me a tattoo of Garfield for my fortieth birthday. He wanted his name underneath. I told him no way, I didn't want to have to spend money to get his name etched off if we broke up. Needless to say, we broke up (on Valentine's day, of all days.) Glad I made that choice or I'd be having to live with his name on my back for the rest of my life (shudders).
From casual 1950's style dating to matching tattoos? Sorry, but that implies that something serious has been occurring off-screen (...er, off-panel? Not sure what the terminology should be.) Still don't want to go there, so I'll just say I have an instant "ick" reaction to tattoos and any piercings other than one hole per earlobe. I keep my peace about it, especially since I have beloved family members who have developed a midlife liking for permanent body art. Iris seems to have reservations, too.
Don't be shy! I'd love to hear what you have to say about Mary Worth. Just keep it clean, that's all I ask. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY blog. I don't want to moderate comments, but I will if I have to.

ReplyDelete@fauxprof at 8:13 AM, the class ring on a chain was the first thing that popped into my mind, too. You and I are of the same era for sure.
ReplyDeleteWhat Iris thinks Zak will ask: "Will you wear my letter sweater?"
What Zak will ask: "Will you co-sign on a student loan for me?"
Is it time for Iris to meet Zak's parents? Because that would be wonderful.
ReplyDelete...oh. So...no, then.
Serious next step = hot air ballooning
