To Nance: Since today's Boldface Haiku will be quite dull, and I didn't post a blog entry yesterday, I invite you to share Sunday's haiku, which won't be dull at all.
Prediction: Derek will head to the men's room, Esme will lock him in, Katie will kick the door open. And they all lived happily ever after. Now I need a cigarette.
Okay, I am totally confused regarding the passage of time. What day is it supposed to be on that ship?
Would it have killed June to throw Nance a bone and have the plant in panel 2 exclaim !!? For all we know, Esme could have tossed one of her cigarette butts in that plant.
Happy belated Father's Day, Wanders. I hope your family feted you in style!
Where will Katie look for Derek? One of the many piano bars? Perhaps he's in the casino? Stuffing himself with shrimp at the all-night buffet? My guess is that she's going to run into Mary and sob her little heart out to that kindly new acquaintance. Let the meddling begin, because we've been setting it up for quite some time. (In the meanwhile, I fear Nance is trying to figure out to do with Sunday's dialogue. From boldface haiku to boldface free verse.)
Sunday's Boldface Haiku is titled "Cliche Theatre Presents 'TitaniCasablanca And The Telekinetic Cigarette': A Drama".
Wife back. Me...1122. Beautiful, talented...incredible. Room! Magic! Sorry, decline...Alone. I'm leaving the invitation open, Derek! For when you change your mind!
Thank you, Wanders, for the belated BH opportunity and for everyone's profound concern that my Creative Force might be frustrated. Sorry to be so tardy; I was busy for most of the day with Obviously Less Wonderful Things.
I think (hope!) that, before St. Mary will come on the scene and make everything right again, Kati will run into Esme sans Derek and an awful cat fight will ensue. There will be name calling, hair pulling and nail scratching, and one or both of them will fall into the swimming pool. The accompanying splash will arouse our Meddler-in-Chief, and then the story will come to its inevitable - and boring! - conclusion. NEXT!
Don't be shy! I'd love to hear what you have to say about Mary Worth. Just keep it clean, that's all I ask. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY blog. I don't want to moderate comments, but I will if I have to.
ReplyDeleteWow, Katie changes clothes almost as fast as Esme makes a lit cigarette materialize out of nowhere.

ReplyDeleteNance, I am relieved to see that Wanders has gone ahead and addressed your no-boldface predicament today. I was worried.

ReplyDeleteI predict Mary Worth can't sleep and is wandering the boat in search of meddling opportunities.

Boy, 3E must smoke 2-3 packs a day.
ReplyDeleteFrom practically all boldface yesterday to no boldface today. Someone's messing with Nance!
ReplyDeleteSo - Katie kicks Derek out not once but twice, and is now going to look for him? Not making much sense. Oh, wait - this is MW. Sorry.
ReplyDeleteMethinks Katie will ensure Esme’s appointment with the Briny Deep will be kept. Shiver me timbers!

ReplyDeleteIt has been rather plenty without Mary providing her travelogue to Toby
ReplyDeleteI think Katie will find Esme and push her overboard. A little violence to add to the sex!
