But frankly, I'd much rather listen to Katie recap her encounter with Esme, than to Mary recap her encounter with Derek. But an employee falling overboard just isn't as significant as buying a photo in the photo gallery.
One day KM may make an attempt to evoke the real world in one of her stories. You know, a world that includes attorneys and law enforcement officers. Ones who might be interested in security video footage that document such things murderous ship employees and dangerous railings? Might Esme have found herself facing a rather long prison term and Budget Cruise Lines forking over a very large settlement to Katie?
@ Chin Napkin Groupie, we were rightfully appalled the last time she tried the real life drama on a cruise ship, though I'm sure we're fondly recalling the Unita Del Mare/Costa Concordia at this point in the current story. Seriously, Katie hasn't even told Derek about this little deck drama.
@ KitKat, I can't hear or read that word without thinking of Uncle Fester!
The way Mary minimizes the whole Katie and Derek thing is amazing. He's committing emotional adultery with this third rate cruise singer, singing cheesy show tunes like he's Fred Astaire and she's Ginger Rogers, she's an annoying, controlling harpy and Mary says it was just a "misunderstanding?" I suppose 3E falling over the railing was just a "minor accident".
I really hate Mary Worth and her eternal smugness, but like a bad accident, I keep coming back to look.
Um, Tobey, their marriage appears to have had some festering problems for quite some time. These two make it sound like the issues are that Katie drinks out of the milk carton and Derek leaves the toilet seat up.
@Dave in Parma, had to laugh when you also typo'd the correction. I dislike messaging on my phone because it's too small and I don't even have giant man hands or anything. Autocorrect has a mind of its own, too. The true winner is voice to text, though. My horse trainer once sent me one of those that was so over-the-top bizarre and hilarious that I screencapped it to save forever. I periodically send it to her for fun.
Don't be shy! I'd love to hear what you have to say about Mary Worth. Just keep it clean, that's all I ask. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY blog. I don't want to moderate comments, but I will if I have to.
I said I saw him IN the photo gallery Toby, not AT the photo gallery! Photos don't talk!
ReplyDelete(though I wouldn't put it beyond Mary to conjure up some Harry Potter-esque photos where people's soul's reside)
ReplyDeleteThis denouement has been most unsatisfying. A complete letdown.
I believe I know what we should do /
Turn to stern and point to shore /
The cruise can't carry this plot no more.

ReplyDeleteIt does seem that there would be more review of the past actions between Esme and Katie.

ReplyDeleteThis is the point where Uncle Fester from "The Addams Family" should burst in and ask, "Did someone call me?"
Toby looks very tired from disco-ing the night away.
