Mary Worth 2678

Well, to be fair, Jared, you didn't know he was married either. Which begs the question: How many of us do not know the marital status of our bosses? Show of hands, please.

  1. That’s some scary-looking weather Jared is driving through...is this Santa Royale or Houston? Glad he’s buckled up for safety.

  2. Shouldn't the secret message be: If your boss is hitting on you, he or she is probably married?

  3. Yesterday, Dawn was dreamily doodling "Mrs. Dr. Dawn Fletcher" on some patient's lab report.

Today, I see Dawn and Ned changed clothes again at work for some reason. Maybe they got surgical gunk all over them. Or maybe she got paw prints all over her stripey top and he got lipstick on his collar.

  4. Jared drives? He can barely walk without tripping.
And why would a doctor have to work late? Does he see patients in the evening?

  5. Today's Boldface Haiku is titled "Contemplations On The Breaking Dawn" or "Here's My Chance To Make My Move".

    (Married! Doesn't...)
    Poor Dawn! Devastated!

  6. "Poor Dawn! She'll be devasted! I can hardly wait to tell her!"

  7. Yyyyyeah, this is a pretty gutsy strategy for Dr. Ned. He told Dawn on a date that he was divorced... assuming, I guess, that she'll never ask anyone around the office for more details? And weirder, even if she had asked, they'd all apparently be like "I don't know, I never thought about it!" And for no one to know, that means... he takes his wedding ring off before he goes into the office, every single day, pre-dating Dawn's arrival? This isn't the most intuitive storyline, I guess is what I'm saying. Bring back the platonic yoga professors! Now THAT made sense.

  8. Unfortunately for Dr. Ned, his employment practices liability insurance was cancelled due to adverse claims experience.

  9. I'll bet Dr. Ned's wife doesn't understand him and she nags him about coming home so they're virtually divorced anyway. Never mind she put him through medical school, paid off his student loans, and sacrificed for years. Dawn will understand.

  10. Now in fairness, before we all pile on Dr. Ned, let's be clear that he said he was divorced and that his kids lived far away. He didn't say anything about his 2nd wife who does live in Santa Royale.

    Details are everything.

  11. Heaven help me for my twisted sense of humor and over thinking this plot, but it would be fascinating for Clytemnestra (Mrs. Dr. Ned) to go off on Dawn and the not-so-good doctor. And even better that Jared "Sandy" medical assistant be part of the collateral damage after giving a warning to Dawn.

  12. Mary has been absent for awhile. I wonder if Dawn will run into her and gush about being in love. Warning: Adulting may lead to adultery!

  13. I bet Dr. Ned smokes cigarettes, too! Grounds for divorce!

  14. Considerng that when light shines on Jared's head, you can see tiny pinholes in his shaddow (check out Saturday's panel...), it's no wonder he isn't aware of his boss's marital status.

  15. Adultery seems to be a trend in the Worthiverse lately. First the temptress Esme tries to lure Mr Hoosier or whatever his name was into an affair, and now this! Perhaps KM is trying to work through something? Cheaper than therapy.
