Mary Worth 2707

Is she 22? Maybe it isn't too late for Iris to go crawling back to Zak.

  1. Oh no, not another story about Iris. Comon KM, you're killing us. Can't JB draw anyone but Wilbur, Iris, Dawn and Mary????

When I read that Wilbur had found someone in Bogata, I immediately thought of the I Love Lucy episode where Lucy imagines Carlotta Romero to be this gorgeous Latina siren. When Carlotta finally shows up, she's this short, chubby middle aged lady. I picture this senario with Iris and Wilbur.

  2. Today's Boldface Haiku is titled "Out Of The Boring Pan And Into The ZZZZzzzzzzzzzz".

    Delaying month? Work extension?
    Er, no...lie

  3. Yea! It's a choose-your-own adventure story, unfortunately still including the Westons (life is brutal). Choose Iris' first thought/comment:

--"Thank God! I was afraid you'd come back soon and find out I'd moved on."
--"Is he married like your daughter's last boyfriend?"
--"How long do you expect to be in Columbian prison?"
--"But who will make your crust-less hand sandwiches?!"

  4. I find it very difficult to believe that Wilbur has not just one, but TWO women interested in him. Come on, Entertainer Esme's reverse backflip with a half-twist off the ship's railing was more believable than this.

  5. Not Iris, not Iris, please no, not Iris!!!

OK, I’m over it. I’m pleased Wilbur has emerged from the Antarctic (or the Arctic, that was never clear), and I’m eager to meet his new “someone”. Will he bring her home with him, or will immigration difficulties mean he will become an expat? Really, he needs to come home long enough to fly kites with Dawn and repair her life.

  6. Wilbur is going to adopt a Colombian orphan.

  7. Dawn, Iris, I'd like you to meet Raoul.

  8. Well, S. McW at 10:08 a.m. beat me to it, except I hoped the name is Carlos.

Let's all wave goodbye to the hoped-for pool party and new characters. And to Dr. Jeff, probably.

    Iris dodges a bullet.

  10. "Um, Tommy, do you have any of that Vicodin left?"

  11. I also think the orphan explanation seems the most likely direction, knowing the strip, and the fact that Bogota isn't known for its sandwich makers. (Though I could be wrong there).

It also would still fit the specific wording.

  12. It was Iris that broke up with Wilbur, then she started dating Zack. Now she's been replaced. Life is brutal.

It would be great if Wilbur's "feelings-interest" is 28 years old.
Wilbur to Dawn: "Dawn, I'd like you to meet your new mother".

If Wilbur is still a month away from Santa Royale, this story arc will take YEARS in the Worthyverse.

  13. To quote Iris "Spare me the details".

  14. And WHAT will MARY have to say about THIS turn of events?

  15. Looks like Mary will have to keep doing "Ask Wendy" for awhile longer...If I were her, I'd be demanding a raise along about now.

  16. I hope the new love interest is the wife of a "coffee plantation" owner and madcap hilarity ensues, closely followed by carrot muffins.

  17. I had to go back to when Wilbur wet on "the grand tour of Europe and parts beyond" tour. It has actually been almost a year. (He left November 18th-two days before my birthday! That was a great birthday gift!) Time flies when you're not having fun.

BTW Iris, why are you so bent out of shape. You're the one who suggest that you and Sandwich Man take a break. You then had your wild fling with Zak No Last Name. If Wilbur wants to be with Carlotta Romero (too lazy to look at today's comic to get her real name), let him. You're dodging a bullet here, honey.

I can't believe that women are fighting over Wilbur. This is like my cats fighting over the last scrap of food in their dish!

  18. R W-P,

I think it's more like your cats fighting over who gets to take a bath first.

Don't be shy! I'd love to hear what you have to say about Mary Worth. Just keep it clean, that's all I ask. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY blog. I don't want to moderate comments, but I will if I have to.
