Over the weekend, we learned that Zak is now "working" because "a game" he "developed" is "taking off." Excuse me, but unless the game that this California business student developed is a ten-sided dice game called "MBA Fantasy," he isn't walking to work dressed in a suit, no matter how ill-fitting. (See this article on the Tech Uniform from Business Insider).
I didn't post over the weekend because we were too busy going to Halloween parties and such:
Great costumes!
ReplyDeletePrediction: Zak takes Iris out to dinner to tell her about his new girlfriend.

I like those costumes, Wanders and Mrs. Wanders. And how appropriate it's Halloween, because another go-round with Iris and Zak makes me scream.
ReplyDeleteYesterday Iris said Tommy's "doing well" and working. Maybe a game of his has taken off too?
Love you and Mrs. Wanders' costumes!!!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to think that Zak is dressed up for Halloween, by pretending to be "adulting". All I could think of when he was kissing Iris it was like kissing a cactus. Hint to Zak: part of "adulting" is shaving.
BTW: My husband and I got married on Halloween. (Just thought I'd throw that out LOL)
Today's Boldface Haiku is titled "What Broken Heart? Love Is Way Easier Than College For Iris!"
ReplyDeleteTonight.
Catching up!
Then,...
I love the Peanuts Gang!
Sweet costumes, Mr and Mrs Wanders! Classy, iconic and comfortable for partygoing. You win at Halloween.
ReplyDeleteZak and Iris? Well, okay.
You know, there really is a community of game developers out there who create, workshop, refine and sometimes attempt to sell games. (Check out Kickstarter and you'll see them. They are doing it wrong. Maybe they should buy suits from Marshall's and go pick up their checks from The Parker Brothers.)
Charlie Brown and Snoopy! If you’re going to go comics-themed, the classics are the best. (Glad you two didn’t go for Wilbur and Fabiana!)
ReplyDeleteNote to Zak: Either grow a beard or shave! Make a choice! (BTW, how do guys maintain that hipster stubble? Is there a setting on the electric shaver, like on a lawnmower? Just asking.)
Fauxprof-
ReplyDeleteRight you are. As the mother of three sons, I am very familiar with these shavers. They are indeed designed to leave a stubble and are adjustable. You just can't make this stuff up.
ReplyDeleteAs some of the women in my life have pointed out, they are still expected to be well groomed and wear make-up and such, while men no longer have to shave or even comb their hair anymore. What's next for guys, green teeth? If there's anything the Pink Hats should be protesting, it's this.

Great costumes, Wanders and Ms. Wanders! You rule Halloween!
ReplyDeleteOn a completely unrelated topic, last night’s news featured a group of 5 - 6 people in T-Rex costumes swarming downtown Nashville! The local news managed to get videos via helicopter! They were adorable. In my mind, I can see how it played out: five or six people sitting around bored and suddenly one says, “I know! Let’s all get T-Rex outfits and swarm Nashville!” And everyone else says, “Yah! Let’s DO IT!” And a legend is born.
Happy Halloween, fellow Worthies! : )
Hmm.. I thought at first that Mrs. Wanders might have been Rocky the Flying Squirrel from Bullwinkle...In any case, I thoroughly applaud the idea of no-fuss Halloween costumes. As for Iris and Zak, once again a woman is being saved from being alone as if alone is a condition to be quickly overcome. Can you say "rebound", Iris?
ReplyDeleteOoooh, today's Boldface Haiku is seriously disturbing, and the open ended "Then,..." gives me the shivers. Must stop imagining the words that could follow!
ReplyDeleteWhat I enjoy about Zak's (costume?) getup is his 1950's style briefcase he's carrying. That will surely impress the venture capitalists at his important meeting. He's going by himself?
ReplyDeleteSomehow I feel we are on a long, winding, very painful trip to reunite Wilbur and Iris.
I finally figured out why Zak is dressed up in a suit and briefcase: he’s going as Don Draper for Halloween. LOL toots McGee about Marshall’s. In Maine we have this store called Marden’s. They buy stuff from companies that have bankruptcies, fires, insurance losses, etc., Sometimes you can get high end stuff for next to nothing sometimes not so much. Zak falls into the Marden’s “not so much” category.
ReplyDeletePlease go dancing! Please let Dawn see you dancing!
ReplyDeleteWilbur's dating a hot young Latina. Iris is back with a younger man, now with bonus hot car.
ReplyDelete. . . Is Moy and/or Brigman having a midlife crisis right now?
Tuesday: that's one of the best drawn vehicles in the history of the MW strip. Kudos to JB. Authentic and detailed, down to the green 'Enterprise Car Rental' that Iris doesn't notice on the side window.
ReplyDeleteI was able to get my hands on panel 3 of today's strip (apparently didn't fit in the paper) where Zak says, "Speaking of lucky....."
