Mary Worth 2730

Zakiks sounds like a Flappy Bird game, but there's a vomiting cat instead.

  1. I'll bet medical assistant Jared is a gamer. He and Zak should hang out.

  2. Back with Zak for Splak - with a game and by candlelight! It doesn't get more romantic or exciting in Santa Royale does it?

  3. Today's Boldface Haiku is titled "Wisely, Iris Orders No Wine Since Things Are Bizarre Enough Already".

    Zakiks Game...
    No.
    Fun. Popular.
    Congratulations!

  4. It is the law in Santa Royale: "All restaurants must have dim light, and flammable drapes"

  5. Again with the time warp in the Worthiverse.. By my calculation, Zak and Iris split up last spring. Zak was still a carefree grad student. Now, about four months later, suddenly he's Mr. Big Bucks with a bank account...Seems to me he'd at least have college loans to pay off before having the dough to buy the fancy car. Or maybe this Zakik's game is a bigger money maker than I think.(Dear God, it's a play on his name, I just realized....) At least SOMETHING is moving faster than the typical MW plot...

  6. Not so popular that Zak can score a good table. He and Iris were shunted to a tea table in an alcove, shrouded by ugly, heavy drapes. What I'd love to see tomorrow: candle ignites flower and flames leap to drapes. Bye bye Beedie and Zakik!

  7. I can't help but try to fill in the details of Zak's story.

I'm gonna say that part of Zak's Masters program in "Advanced Business" involved coming up with a proposal for a product or service and formulating a business plan to support the proposal. Zak, being the fun loving and laid back youthful scamp that we met last year, naturally gravitated towards something fun, like a new game. Zak and his buddies cooked up a fun game called the Zakiks game while they were bowling, getting tattoos or whatever other carefree things they do for fun. Zak decided the Zakiks game would be a fun concept to base his Advanced Business proposal around.

Naturally, Zak's professor or graduate advisor or someone couldn't help but encourage Zak to take his to market for real, because it was clearly a million dollar idea. So Zak did this, and now the Zakiks game is flying off the shelf and Zak is a gaming millionaire.

  8. I’ll draw on my love of science fiction to postulate that the Worthiverse operates on a series of fluctuating timelines, and the characters can slip in and out of these timelines randomly. Zak has aged and prospered over three or four years in an alternate timeline, and has re-entered Iris’ stream, Park being a nexus point. Mary is the anchor—that’s why it’s called the Worthiverse—but even she varies in apparent age from one day to the next. There’s probably also spatial flux, explaining Wilbur’s geographical anomalies, such as Bogota Beach. OK, I’ll go lie down in a dark room for a while...

  9. Thank you, fauxprof, for your very scholarly and complete explanation of time in the Worthiverse. I can see why you needed a rest afterwards...
