Mary Worth 2739

Looks like Zak traded in his new Porsche for my 1997 Volkswagen New Beetle.

  2. Coming Sunday:

Z: Would you like a 2nd cup of coffee?
    I: Coffee?
Z: Let go of my hand
    I: Your hand?
    Z: That's not my hand.
    I: !
    Z: It feels so natural!
I: That's because you have a job now.

  5. I can’t make any sense of this progression. They walked from dinner to Zak’s apartment. They went from the front steps to the kitchen for coffee. Now they’ve found themselves in his car. If this were a Gene Wolfe novel, I would take it as evidence that the author is playing tricks with chronological narrative. But in Mary Worth, I just assume the illustrator can’t be bothered to check where the characters were last.

    1. I will give credit for the accuracy of this detail: lots of people who come into suddenly wealth go out and buy a classic car from their youth.

  6. @TheRealAaron: Iris walked Zak home. So then Zak had to drive Iris back home. Which means, of course, that she will then need to walk him back home. This could go on for quite a while.

  7. It's a pity someone keyed the heck out of that car. And deflated half the front tire.
