That must have been some "comfortable amount" considering that Jack took a header off a building when the stock market crashed in 1929. No wonder Mary never worries about the cost of Medicare supplemental insurance.
Toby should know by now that Mary would rather be known far and wide for her meddling, not her muffins.
Let’s go with the premise that Mary’s muffins are the greatest things ever to come out of an oven, sheer ambrosia on the taste buds, so good that the oddness of serving them as dinner appetizers goes unnoticed. I don’t see that translating to mass production. Of course, if it’s just a matter of branding, a picture of a little old lady on the package is genius! I’m sure that’s never been tried before.
If she's so $$ comfortable, maybe she could donate the proceeds to a worthy cause like Paul Newman did! Mary might want to check out how some of these food products got named for real (and not real) people on this web site http://www.strangehistory.org/cms/index.php/25-new-articles/88-real-or-not-real-a-brief-history-of-food-names... Love the Little Debbie story.
"Gold Meddle Flour" deserves an award, Yahoonski! Maybe a Major Award, packed in a crate that's stamped "fragile."
LouiseF, thanks for the link. Mr. KitKat has always been fond of Little Debbie Nutty Buddies (formerly called Nutty Bars - Little Debbie changed her little mind about the name a few years ago). I wonder if Ted will insist that a drawing of Mary go on the label for her muffins. I'm trying to picture Mary in a Little Debbie hat.
Don't be shy! I'd love to hear what you have to say about Mary Worth. Just keep it clean, that's all I ask. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY blog. I don't want to moderate comments, but I will if I have to.

LouiseF@12:06pm- Girl!! You are prescient! In Saturday’s strip, she’s imagining her face being in every supermarket like ‘that actor, Saul Lehman.’
