Indeed, Wanders, regardless of what other countless good works Nance does, he or she can always know that the bold faced haiku has forever changed the way I read Mary Worth.
Ha ha, the Friend Zone! I think you nailed it, Wanders. The only thing Tommy's got going for him is that he doesn't have one of those chichéd stubble faces.
@Nance. "Tommy swipes right at work"! Genius double entendre!
@Nance, I don’t know how you do it. We are not worthy (no pun intended)!
It doesn’t take much for Tommy to find a main squeeze, though it’s unclear if Brandy will squeeze back. Tomorrow, there will be a thought bubble proclaiming, “Eat your heart out, Tina Baby!”
I find myself torn about Brandy the girl not the beverage. Sometimes I think she's pretty. Sometimes I think she's been drawn by Picasso. I'm so confused.
From this dinner, you would think that Tommy and Brandy are the blandest, most boring twenty-somethings in Santa Royale. But with Tommy, we know that's not the case. He used to dream of having his very own meth lab, dealt drugs, almost killed one of his customers with his product, went to prison, found religion, found love, had his heart broken, has dealt with back pain, became addicted to Vicodin, etc. Although he's often made bad choices, he's at least interesting.
So, what's Brandy's backstory? Is she as run-of-the-mill as she seems? Or is she a contract killer from Chicago on the lam in Santa Royale? Is she in the witness protection program after helping to operate a massive Ponzi scheme on the East Coast before turning state's evidence against her partners? Is she a former dictator from another country who got deposed by her rebellious people, who just really wanted more? Or is she just a nice, normal, hardworking person who can bring some happiness into Tommy's life and this strip?
Maxwell Bacon, I like your scenario of Brandy being on the lam and/or in the witness protection program. Of course, in the Worthiverse, it’s the witless protection program. Anything as long as she’s not as bland and boring as she has so far appeared to be.
Tommy and Brandy could go for a run on the beach and then go to s movie. Of course, they wouldn’t know what to do for the rest of the week....
Don't be shy! I'd love to hear what you have to say about Mary Worth. Just keep it clean, that's all I ask. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY blog. I don't want to moderate comments, but I will if I have to.
I would like to suggest "Looking for Love in All the Wrong Places" for the Charterstone Jukebox.
ReplyDeleteI'm just shocked that KM knows about Tinder and that she didn't rename it Binder or Cinder.

ReplyDeleteTinder is NOT a dating site, it is a hookup site.
ReplyDeleteToday's Boldfaced (and redfaced! Thank you, Wanders.) Haiku is titled
ReplyDelete"Freda's aka Frinder: Tommy Swipes Right At Work".
You?
Tinder. Looking love. Are you?
Same...(Search over.)

ReplyDeleteKeep looking Brandy. Keep looking.
ReplyDeleteI NEVER thought I would say this, but, things are moving really FAST in the Worthiverse!
ReplyDeleteAt least she didn't say she was signing up for Grindr. Tommy has some chance, although I'd like to tell Brandy she can do better. Zak, for instance.

ReplyDeleteSATURDAY
Whoa, I'm impressed that Tommy didn't jump with both feet on the beach opening. Maybe even he thinks that might be pushing things.
I suggest you go for a run, kids. Don't cost nuthin'. Maybe you'll see Wilbur as he plods along.

Rumor is that Wilbur is still solo because he can't swipe right on his flip phone....
