No, Jeff, that's NOT lamb!! It's the REAL reason Mary has peace around the house now...(and maybe no cat). It's also KM's cheap nod to Thanksgiving. You're a week late, Mary, and serving LAMB,(er, some other mystery meat) to sucker Dr. Jeff, whose only dessert will be that little peck on the cheek he's giving Mary.
Cats just settling in to new environments absolutely love it when strangers come over to visit.
Also, Mary should bake Libby a lasagna on Monday because cats hate Mondays. Why do cats hate Mondays? I have no idea. My cats love them. Mondays are the day when the humans remember to get out of the cats' beds early in the morning.
Perhaps this is the setup for the boring resolution to this “story”. Jeff comes to Mary’s place one a year, is allergic to cats, Mary foists Libby on Wilbur.
@Regina, my thoughts exactly. Libby has had a nice lamb dinner. That will be the final straw for Mary. Tomorrow, se'll start making "salmon squares" for Libby.
Jeff's lips aren't even touching Mary's cheek. What a relationship--their only PDA is an air kiss. Lame.
Don't be shy! I'd love to hear what you have to say about Mary Worth. Just keep it clean, that's all I ask. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY blog. I don't want to moderate comments, but I will if I have to.
Today's Boldface Haiku is titled
ReplyDelete"PG-Rated Boldface; G-Rated Comic".
Hello!
Hello, hungry!
Roast lamb?
Love!
NO PDA! NO PDA!

ReplyDeleteAw, what a chaste kiss. Poor Jeff has been wasting his time badgering pharmaceutical sales reps for free samples of those little blue pills.

Now we'll get a week of Dr Jeff Corey sneezing.
ReplyDeleteI think tomorrow we’re going to see a lamb bone and Libby picking her teeth with a toothpick.

Letting off a little steam, Mary?
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I read today’s strip the Bumpus hounds came to mind. And so seasonal, too.

ReplyDeleteWorthiverse historians: is this the first display of affection we've ever seen between Mary and Jeff? I can't remember one before now.
ReplyDeleteI guess we can't really say that little peck is between Mary and Jeff, though. Pretty one-sided PDA. Poor, poor Jeff.
