Hugo shows up at the door wearing cargo shorts and a tee shirt. Let's listen in:
"Pardonne, am I here on ze wrong day?"
"No. Why do you ask?"
"You are all dressed up. Are you going somewhere?"
"Yes. Out. With you."
"You mean like on a DATE?"
[cooly] "Yes."
"Oh ho ho ho ho, no no no, silly girl. We are going to, how you say, hang out. I've got to go to ze Home Depot to pick up some paint, brushes, and other stuff. I thought you would like to come along. A DATE?! No no no!"
@Scottie McW., I love your scenario and wish we could see that one play out instead of whatever KM has cooked up. (Prepare to cringe.)
If there’s one thing Dawn lacks, it’s savoir faire. Tying a 1951-style kerchief around her neck doesn’t help. (Seems like June was aiming for a Leslie Caron gamin look but missed by a lot.)
I don't know what the youngins are wearing these days, but it's certainly NOT what Dawn's wearing. Dawn has been watching the movie American in Paris too much.
Do the Westons own a dog? Because the last time I saw a neckerchief like that was a few months ago. I brought my new rescue dog to a fear free vet where they sprayed pheromones on a neckerchief and wrapped it around his neck to ease his anxiety.
Dawn may want to scope out some French girls before she counts on her savoir faire. Brigette Bardot, Catherine Deneuve, or Juliette Binoche would give her a run for her francs.
Don't be shy! I'd love to hear what you have to say about Mary Worth. Just keep it clean, that's all I ask. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY blog. I don't want to moderate comments, but I will if I have to.

Is Dawn going to asphyxiate herself? Very sophisticated.

Dawn should have gone for the black and white cartoon convict shirt topped with a beret.
ReplyDeleteNice of Mary to lend her that quart bottle of 4711 Cologne. (Dear Jack brought it home with him from ‘over there’ after the Great War.)
ReplyDeleteShe needs a beret and a black and white striped shirt.

Hugo soon!
French girls...
Know savoir faire!
Dawn = Dork
ReplyDeleteWanders, a jukebox suggestion: Blossom Dearie's "Give him the Ooh-La-la".
ReplyDelete"If Napoleon at Waterloo-la-la
Had an army of debutantes
To give the British the well known, ooh-la-la
He would have changed the history of France"
I second @RobC’s suggestion of “Give Him the Ooh-la-la”! I love Blossom Dearie’s music.

ReplyDeleteDawn has taken Fight or Flight to the next level.
ReplyDeleteHer eyes say Fight
The Stewardess scarf says "Fly me"

ReplyDeleteHugo paints . . . Dawn wants to emulate French girls . . . oh, I don't like where this is going at all.
