Love and romance agree so well with Dawn that she’ll have a second sandwich, Mary. Another lemon wedge might be in order too.
Bravo to Wanders for providing this trail of Dawn’s fractured romances. What a trip down memory lane! And it’s revelatory too - I had no recollection of how much Dave and One-Armed Jim resembled each other. They could be identical twins, except for that missing arm of course.
"He's even teaching me some French. Here, let me show you what I've learned. 'This sandwich is good, Mary, but it's not as good as one I had in Beautiful Italy once.' Pretty good, eh?"
Thank you Wanders for the trip down memory lane with Dawn and her beaus. Like I said yesterday, she falls in love like I change my clothes. If there were all these floating heads in a panel 1) it would be the panel of the millennium or 2) with all those floating heads, Mary wouldn't know where to meddle first and HER head will explode.
Heartbreak on the horizon when Hugo finishes his painting job...Hope Dawn has been poring over the SRCC fall catalog of classes, because she will need something to take her mind off Hugo next semester. Let's see? Underwater Birdcalling 101, anyone?
Today's post reminded me of how odd I find it that in the redesigned Comics Kingdom page they still use Joe Giella's work for the background images.
As for today's strip, Hugo's teaching Dawn French, eh? Yes, because nothing is more pleasant for a francophone than to hear their language being butchered by a novice. I wonder how many times Hugo corrects her pronunciation before just giving up and proceeding to kiss her à la française.
Don't be shy! I'd love to hear what you have to say about Mary Worth. Just keep it clean, that's all I ask. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY blog. I don't want to moderate comments, but I will if I have to.

I notice everyone's hair styles have changed over time, except Dawn's.
ReplyDeleteShe's a lucky one, all right. Love and romance make most girls puke.

ReplyDeleteBrilliant post today Wanders! Putting Dawn's failed relationships side-by-side make it obvious that she has no standards, reason, or moral compass.
ReplyDeleteRun Hugo! Run away Fast!
WOW! Seven secret messages! I'm a LUCKY GIRL!
ReplyDeleteToday's (unavoidably detained) Boldface Haiku is titled
ReplyDelete"Teaching Her House Painting Would Be A More Marketable Skill, Though".
Good! Wonderful! Teaching French!
Great! Love romance agree!
Lucky girl!
@LouiseF: Dawn has taken every class in the SRCC fall catalog of classes, some several times.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Dawn has ever considered the benefits of lesbianism.
ReplyDeleteNo, that wouldn't help. There are a**holes among lesbians just as there are among straight men, and somehow Dawn would locate them.
Best. Mary. Worth. And. Me. EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDelete(drop the mic, sir, drop the mic)
Mary Rain on Your Parade Worth comes in with a does of reality. I foresee more of life's brutality for Dawn.
ReplyDeleteWednesday
ReplyDeleteDawn can look into moving to Paris. Does the Sorbonne have a remedial program, French as a Second Language classes, and a swim team?
