Good to see Mary in full busy body mod. Oh, I'm sorry, did I make you sad by mentioning Hugo is back in Paris? Have a muffin and tell me all about it. Let me see if I can make you feel worse, there are plenty of muffins. By the way, as a knitter I take offense with Dawn taking it up.
When I saw the "scarf" in panel one, I thought Dawn had dyed Charlie Brown's shirt purple.
I'm surprised that Dawn has a skill other than mooning over some guy that's over a 1,000 miles away. I like Mary's backhanded comment about Dawn having more time.
Of course Dawn has time. She takes one class per semester and doesn't work, but her and her old man have endless income. She has the life I want.
I like how Dawn knitted a scarf that coordinates with the color Mary's wearing today. Dawn: I chowe this color because that's your only outfit that doesn't hide your turkey neck. Gobble, gobble!
Mary's snide remark about Dawn having time to knit will goad her into lots of movies with Jared.
“Enjoy your starter scarf, Mary — sorry about all the staples and razor blades, I’m just a beginner!” “That’s fine, dear — I won’t be wearing it, since Dr. Jeff and I are into full-frontal living-on-the-same-continent nudity anyway.”
Please bear in mind that Mary and Dawn are friends.
Don't be shy! I'd love to hear what you have to say about Mary Worth. Just keep it clean, that's all I ask. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY blog. I don't want to moderate comments, but I will if I have to.
Say what you will about Dawn, but she's the only one to do something about that bloody cowl neck sweater Mary is unwilling to remove.

Today's Boldface Haiku is titled
ReplyDelete"In Which Mary Implies That Dawn Doesn't Have A Real Job, A Real Life, Or A Real Relationship".
Kind generous. Scarf.
Knit. Wonderful!
Recently. In progress!
More time
Boyfriend Paris...
So glad Nance is back and OK.

“It’s a skill in progress. This scarf didn’t turn out so well, so I decided to give it to you instead of keeping it for myself.”
ReplyDeleteThe big question is whether Dawn ever did that reading!
Mary wasted no time putting that FREE scarf on.
ReplyDeleteKnitting is a thing, even at hoity toity universities

Those three dots after "Paris" speak volumes about Mary's attitude towards Dawn... Thanks, Nance, for including the BF punctuation!
ReplyDeleteAs Chandler Bing might say about Mary's comment: "Could she BE any more passive-aggressive?"
ReplyDeleteI guess a Southern California scarf is to be expected from somebody who generally wears a Southern California turtleneck.
Wanders, you are partly correct. Especially among women "of a certain age". However, the scarves are typically silk.
ReplyDeleteThat scarf must weigh ten pounds!
