So is today’s strip a Labor Day placeholder, or will Mary drop by with muffins tomorrow so Saul can praise her role in transforming Madi?
Everybody will get a victory lap this week. Not only Saul, but Greta, Toby, and the magnificent Mary. Mr. Allora will follow with a broom for the banana bread and muffin crumbs, plus a small plastic bag for...well, you know.
This storyline, like this rancid horrible Summer from Hell (excuse me Wanders) just refuses to end.
Usually Labor Day makes me a little wistful and sad — but this year, I want to get out a shovel, beat Summer 2020 to death with it, and then bury it in a shallow grave. Please, let us never speak of Madi (short for Madeline? Matilda? Maudlin?) or this terrible season ever again.
Never doubt that Karen Moy has a cruel streak. Most writers couldn't wait to move on to the next story, but she knows she can inflict pain on her readers by prolonging this piffle.
You know, KM, if you wrote in a second dog for Saul and a second cat for Estelle, you'd be able to completely abandon your pitiful attempts at creating human dialog.
