Questions, I've got questions...Who is shaggier/scruffier/mangier: Tommie or the cat? Side contest: What's Brandy's cats name? Name Brandy's cat! My nomination: "Manhattan."
Robert Kubica was unknown to me so I consulted the Google. He’s a Polish racing driver. He gave up Formula One racing after a devastating crash in 2011, so I wonder if he made the remark used today from KM’s Big Bag ‘o Quotations predates that incident.
Wanders, truer words were never spoken. Brandy needs to widen her horizons.
KM, I don't think anyone here really cares anymore if the Babes get back together. I don't think we care if Tommy falls off the wagon and ends up back in that alley with Vin. I don't even think we care if another 10 or 12 cats appear at Brandy's apartment. Can we please jump to the scene where we're looking at Saul's car parked up on Lover's Lane following his date with Eve? I'm thinking, you know, the scene from the Titanic with whatever their names were, in the backseat of the car parked down in the bowels of the ship.
Scottie McW: I am under the impression that "different than" might be correct if you're British, whereas "different from" is American. And probably Canadian. I grew up in a border town, and I never heard "different than" on Canadian TV. If I had, it wouldn't annoy me so much.
"Different from" vs "different then" are both OK, but which is preferred sort of depends on where the sentence is going, noun or phrase: "Aging is different"
..than I expected. ..from what I was led to expect.
Don't be shy! I'd love to hear what you have to say about Mary Worth. Just keep it clean, that's all I ask. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY blog. I don't want to moderate comments, but I will if I have to.
My advice, Brandy—you’re better off with the cat.

ReplyDeletetkraft, my nomination is “Mister Cuddles.”

It's gotta be "Babe"
ReplyDeleteThis is a different cat from the one she was interacting with on 11/2. Unless she has (at least ) two cats.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone yet made a connection between Tommy's Brandi addiction and a certain Sarah McLaughlin song?
ReplyDelete"And I would be the one
To hold you down
Kiss you so hard
I'll take your breath away
And after I'd, wipe away the tears
Just close your eyes, dear"
I don't see Brandy as being very creative. So I'll say the other cat's name is Gray and this one is Brownie.

Love how you correctly write "different from" rather than "different than."
Your fellow word nerds recognize and appreciate the professionalism.
