Using his exceptional display building skills, Tommy dismantled the boardwalk and used the lumber to build a little beach shack where he and Brandy can live out their happy lives.
I’d like to think that there will be a brand-new storyline tomorrow, but the Mary victory lap week is traditional. It may be contractually obligatory. Although a new story is nothing to be optimistic about. It will probably feature Dawn and Jared (young love), Wilbur and Estelle (geriatric love), or Toby and Ian (incomprehensible love).
“The time we were broken up” made me wince - bleah. Perhaps KM is underscoring that Tommy’s clunky expressions show that he is a diamond in the very, very, very rough. BTW, how long were the babes “broken up” - four days? They saw each other at Freda’s, even if they didn’t speak and if they hung their aprons on non-adjacent hooks.
The only day of the week that Brandy looks like a woman of color is Sunday. Is there a different colorist for the Sunday strips?
Fauxprof, I’m thinking the same thing you are. I doubt that Mary will skip a victory lap. She will either run into Tommy by the incinerator in their building, or she will shop at Freda’s and see him stocking shelves or assembling a display. He can thank her profusely and lead her to Brandy’s register. As a special thank-you, Brandy will let Mary redeem coupons for items she didn’t buy.
Don't be shy! I'd love to hear what you have to say about Mary Worth. Just keep it clean, that's all I ask. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY blog. I don't want to moderate comments, but I will if I have to.

Erm - I think Tommy is using "got" in the sense of something nice that they were able to do, not something you need to do.
ReplyDeleteWhich is just patronizing & annoying, not grammatically unsound.
"Patronizing & annoying" is on my family crest.

ReplyDelete"That's actually not a bad quote from ol' Xan Oku.
"'Patronizing & annoying' is on my family crest." Downpuppy, that is uproarious!
