Mary Worth 3521

There's nothing Tommy enjoys more than a little smoked salmon appetizer before sitting down to a cold bowl of gazpacho. He's just classy that way.

  1. Ah, there's nothing like a bag o' Freda's finest generic salmon byproducts! Thanks, Tommy!

  2. If you play your cards right, Tommy, Old Noseybox might invite you over to share some of those fabulous appetizers she is contemplating. She sure jumped right in with an inquiry about whether or not you and Brandy broke up. Love how that reveals the low underbelly of Mary's concern and compassion for her neighbors. It's all about the gossip potential...

  3. Tommy: Umm… Mary, that’s actually a salmon soufflĂ©. I know it’s a little flat but it fell out of the bag as I was getting in my car and the guy pulling into the space next to me ran over it. It should still taste okay, though, don’t you think?

  4. The salmon will provide a welcome upgrade from the can of Little Friskies "Seafood Dinner" she is forced to dine upon most eveningss. Sadly, almost all of her food budget is spent on muffin fixins so she can "keep up appearances," don't you know.

  5. I’m suspicious. I envision a case of smoked salmon sitting out on Freda’s loading dock in the blazing sun because a certain employee neglected to bring it in and put it in the cooler. Stand by for multiple cases of food poisoning at Charterstone.

  6. Mary: Did you smoke it...

Tommy: NO! No, I didn’t smoke it! Vin’s just a friend! I swear!

    Mary: ...yourself?

  7. meg, your gift for consistency of observation is fabulous! Let me be the first (but likely not the last) to notice how much that "cobbler" looks like a box of used cat litter? Perhaps Libby has been over for a visit..

  8. A smoked salmon sandwich? Is that a thing? I'm a native southern Californian and have never eaten that. Smoked kelk sandwich, sure.

  9. LouiseF, bingo on the blueberry cobbler observation. We have a new candidate in Mary’s cavalcade of dubious and disgusting foods. Mary always has something she just made available. Who eats that dreck (other than Tommy and Toby)? I think Mary takes it down to the building lobby with a sign that says “Enjoy! Baked by Mary Worth, Your Kind Neighbor.” No one takes any of it, and Mr. Allora tosses it when Mary’s gone.

  10. With all the emphasis on Mary's skill as a baker one would think an effort would be made to make her baked goods appear appetizing.

  11. I live alone, like Mary, with not even a Jeff to stop by and see what muffins are available. I don't make things like cobbler, especially not large pans of it, because what am I going to do with all of that food? It seems like any day that you go to Mary's place, there is a mass quantity of something that just came out of the oven.
