Are you as excited for Christmas as I am? The Charterstone Jukebox has switched over to our traditional "A Charterstone Christmas" playlist, and I hope you enjoy it! But the biggest thrill of all will come on December 25th -- the Worthy Award nominees will be announced!
I also want to thank Steve and Margaret who both got their bribes in early this year! Thank you - you were very generous.
Ready or not, here’s my annual Carol (to the tune of Winter Wonderland):
ReplyDeleteDoorbells ring. Mary’s listening
In the pans, baked goods glistening
She gives out advice
With no hint of spice
And leaves you with
A muffin in your hand
Gone away is confusion
Mary sways all your musin’
Her platitudes sooth
And make your way smooth
And then she puts
A muffin in your hand
Down at Freda’s Tommy builds a tower
Shining bottles leaning all around
Brandy is admiring of the tower
Until a careless shopper knocks it down
Back at home, Mary’s baking
Just in case hearts are aching
Nothing must waste
No matter the taste
She wants to put
A muffin in your hand
Happy Holidays, Worthiverse family. May next year be better!
Nothing says I'm getting old more clearly than when the Worthy Awards roll around. I've been an avid lurker for so many years. Can't wait to relive how your blog helped me cope with 2020.
ReplyDeleteYay, an extra gift this Christmas - the Worthy Award nominees! Thank you, Wanders! You're a prince among men.
ReplyDeleteHuzzah, @fauxprof, your carol is the best one yet!
Directed to Mary today: As they say..."Let your muffins, banana bread, and cobbler shape your rear end."
Bravo, fauxprof! I'll be humming that little ditty all day now. May your days be merry and bright.
ReplyDeletefauxprof, you are a gifted lyricist.
ReplyDeleteI do worry that Tommy and Mary will both die of boredom if they remain in each other's company for too much longer.
ReplyDeleteFauxproof, you are pure genius, distilled down from whatever the secret ingredient is that goes in banana bread.
ReplyDeleteI do wonder what is in Charterstone's water if butterflies are that big....Or, could they be nibbling on Mary's muffins and banana bread?

ReplyDeleteFauxprof, I literally laughed out loud! That is fantastic! If I could, I would put a muffin in your hand!
-- Scottie McW,
Congratulations Fauxprof. That is a wonderful adaptation. Too bad we can't all sing it together. Wouldn't that be fun?
ReplyDeleteThank you, thank you Wanders. Your Worthy Awards will make my Christmas merry and bright.
"Thank you, Fauxprof, for reminding me that we are in the holiday season, since JB has apparently opted to remind us that even if it's December, and Mary's tree is decorated, flowers are still growing outside in California. And it's time for Mary to quote Robert Schuller... Hey, I thought KM reserved those tired quotations for Sundays.
ReplyDeletefauxprof, that was perfect!
ReplyDeleteI've been away for over a week. And look, we're still on Tommy and Brandy. If this keeps up much longer, I'll start hitting the brandy.
