Mary Worth 3596

I know, Mary, it's almost unbelievable. Also, a few WEEKS ago? It couldn't have been that long ago... I mean nothing has happened since, so I assumed it was yesterday or the day before... Let's check. Nope, Max ran away on February 26. Almost a month ago.

  2. Wow! I guess I should have seen it coming yesterday when Saul showed up at Mary’s wearing his new grey sweater. Who would have thought it possible that KM would be capable of crafting the perfect surprise ending?!! Here we are, most of us thinking that Saul has stopped by Mary’s apartment to thank her for suggesting he get chummy with Eve. No, no, no! I’m telling you, by the end of the week, he will have whipped out the receipt for his new sweater and will be asking Mary to reimburse him. After all, it was her fault that Eve knocked on HIS door to help her find Max. Poor Saul! Running around in the pouring rain trying to find that stupid dog caused his beloved green wool sweater to shrink up to a Toddler’s 3T!

    Nicely done, KM, nicely done!

  3. Ha haaaaa, Nance, you nailed it!

You've really got to be impressed with KM's complete lack of interest and effort. Now Saul is going to spend at least a week rehashing this whole boring episode for Mary's benefit (certainly not for ours). Actually, we'll be lucky if it's only a week; we've been fooled before, and badly.

As for "Your dog does search and rescue too?", oh, please! That's like saying I'm a surgeon because I clip my fingernails.

  4. Eve and Saul are pathetic and Mary is feeding into their delusion with the "search and rescue" bit. Dachsunds can be used in search and rescue, though. Here's an article about a real, trained dachsund rescuer. I'd like to see Greta get HER "American Mantrailing, Police and Work Dog Association" certification. THAT might bring a little excitement to this strip, and since trained dogs can assist in finding wandering older adults, there could definitely be some search action at Charterstone. In fact, maybe Greta and Max cooked up the whole search for Max scene as a ruse to practice hunting for their owners... Yeah, that's it. https://www.akc.org/expert-advice/news/allie-the-rescue-dachshund/

  5. I foresee a battle royal between Mary and Greta to determine who is the real top dog at Charterstone.

  6. LouiseF - thanks so much for the article on Allie the long-haired dachshund. Great story!

  7. Where is Libby when we need her, out searching and rescuing?

  8. Chester the Dog - Libby is a great search and rescue cat as long as the victim can be found and rescued on Libby’s left side (right side? I can’t remember which eyeball she’s missing).

  9. IRL you know Mary Worth’s plot for the last year would be nothing but mask shaming, mask-making, mask correcting, mask advice, and repeatedly telling Doctor Jeff that she didn’t want to be part of his “pod” — so at least we can be happy Saul is wearing a new sweater, right?

By the way — all your comments make these plot lines sparkle no matter how bad they are.

  10. Michael Beaumier - I can picture everyone at Charterstone walking around wearing a big old salmon mask.
