Did Drew put that roast beef sandwich in his backpack? Did the slaw ever reappear, and, if it did, is it in the backpack too? And did he leave a tip for Ashlee?
So if Dr. Jeff is a veritable Dr. Welby (Ashlee is still trying to figure out why Drew called his dad a vegetable doctor) then does that make Drew a veritable Dr. Kildare?
I’m sure Richard Chamberlain found Yvette Mimieux to be a very pretty young woman too, and we all know how far that relationship must have gone.
@Wanders – Not too worry! You’re just way too young to have seen the 1964 episode of Young Dr. Kildare that featured stunning actress, Yvette Mimieux, as a surfer girl who just wouldn’t stop surfing despite the fact that she had epilepsy. Didn’t turn out well.
My reference to a possible Richard Chamberlain (who played Dr. Kildare) Yvette Mimieux romance being unlikely was due to the fact that… well, Mr. Chamberlain was simply not into lovely young ladies, no matter how well they surfed, if you get my drift. So if Drew is a veritable Dr. Kildare, then maybe he isn’t into lovely young ladies, no matter how well they pose?
@MissScarlet – Thank you! I love winning! I can’t wait to receive my prize!
So @Helen Clark, I did get your Dr. Kildare reference and it got me wondering if any Dr. Kildare episodes are streaming. Based on my quick research, they are not, bummer. However, a whole bunch of Dr. Kildare movies from the 1940s starring Lew Ayers are being shown. Even better, you can rent or buy a lot of Yvette Mimieux movies including Where the Boys Are. Unfortunately, it doesn't go well for Yvette in that movie which apparently was very controversial at the time. When you think about it, Drew and the Bella Hadid wannabe belong in one of those beach movies from the 1960s.
Diner manager to Ashley: Don't tell customers the fish is bad, serve an uncut sandwich, don't forget the cole slaw, don't sit with customers, don't imply you will give sexual favors to customers in lieu of cash, and stop with the skimpy, trashy clothing. Other than that, you are doing great. I'll be over to your place as soon as I lock up
@MDMaryTed - Thanks for the blast into the past! I never saw that movie (Where the Boys Are) but Googled it just now. The stills are hilarious; not even a belly button showing anywhere! I loved Yvette Mimieux in The Time Machine with Rod Taylor. I actually don't own a television any longer so no streaming for me, but congering up the image of those Morlocks is still good for a nightmare or two!
Don't be shy! I'd love to hear what you have to say about Mary Worth. Just keep it clean, that's all I ask. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY blog. I don't want to moderate comments, but I will if I have to.
I look forward to Nance’s BFH title today!

ReplyDeleteYeah, what red-blooded male would want to spend his day-off in the woods snapping photos of a sexy babe. And to add insult to injury, do it FOR FREE!
Sheesh, he could be spending his day cleaning the garage or cutting the grass. His Dad would probably pay him for that.
This makes me wonder if KM actually knows any men.
On the other hand, Ashlee is a little . . . um, what's the word? . . . pushy, let's say.

I wonder if Ashlee is any relation to Entertainer Esme? They seem to bear a certain resemblance to each other.

@Helen Clark. You even lost me, there, with that one. I must be a veritable Dr. Doogie Howser.
ReplyDelete@Helen Clark. Yeah! You Win! You had me at "vegetable doctor" and slayed me with the Chamberlain/Mimieux reference.
