Yes, grateful the Panda Garden was still open because Iris was NOT going to cook white rice with hamburger gravy and roasted glaze carrots on the side tonight!
Looks like Zak is having takeout, while Iris thriftily opts for the last of the leftover white rice and hamburger gravy (which is not easy to eat with chopsticks).
Has KM experienced a brush with death recently? She seems somewhat obsessed with near misses in her last couple of stories. What next? Estelle's piano topples over onto Libby and/or Pierre?
From Page 6, New York Post: Comic strip writer Karen Moy was pushed down by a hoodlum boy, and then she stubbed her big left toe while strolling through chic Soho. “Does it hurt?” said a man walking past. “@#$&*#$& . You bet your sweet —-! She then limped away and got on with her day.
Later that same day: Moy, in her studio, sips a highball, and contemplates her hideous fall. “Aha!” she exclaims, “I know what to do! Mary will fall off her balcony, too. Wilbur will be strolling by; he’ll catch Mary on the fly.”
