Mary Worth 4222

If this strip has taught me anything, it is that patience doesn't always pay off.

  1. You’re welcome, Wanders. We’re all in this together.

Ladies and gentlemen, today’s strip proves that Dr. Uncle Ed Harding is Jared Mylo’s real father.

  2. Wow! That was some long phone conversation! Ed had time to rearrange the furniture, reupholster his chair, and he even changed his shirt and pants. Although he probably needed to change his clothes. It's likely he got paint on them when he painted his house and garage.

  3. In today’s trip, Odin looks exactly like one of those horrible Furby dolls from the 1990s and actually gave Ed a high five. I think Ed has finally snapped and constructed an Frankenstein pet using a combination of discarded animatronics, Old Norse sorcery, and taxidermy from dire euthanasia cases he couldn’t get over.

  4. Oddly enough (or not, since this is the Worthiverse) Odin was the name of a one-eyed Norse god.

  5. HelenClark, your post made me laugh out loud!

The excitement mounts in anticipation of the big date. Everyone including cats and dog sitting at the piano making beautiful music, ahh! (ugh!)

  8. Just when I thought it could not get any creepier...a cat that looks at you while you ramble on, and then meows while giving you a high five?? I wonder whether these three animals will get together and turn the two humans into their pets.

    And...
Is it just me, or was Ed better-looking several months ago?

  9. Yup; I’m thinking we might have to request a wellness check on LouiseF. Ed’s high-five today with Odin might well have sent her over the edge. Although, admittedly, when you live alone with just pets, it does get pretty easy to try and engage them in conversation. I can remember asking my dog if he knew where the cat was.
