I can find happiness in the color-co-ordinated twin daters in the background of panel 2 talking to the snooty french maitre-d. I shouldn't be surprised but we have managed to spend the week driving to a dinner date with no new information. At this rate we will enter Judge Parker speed. Nice Valentine's message anyway.
We don't even know the NAME of this restaurant! It does look classy, though! However, they have a dress code requiring color-matched tops and bottoms. In panel two, that couple is sure giving Mary and Dr. Jeff the stink eye for not knowing the rules! This may not bode well for the remainder of the evening.
Since there are just two restaurants in Santa Royale and this one isn't the Bum Boat, it has to be La Rosa. If you want a burger in Santa Royale, you are stone outa luck.
It just occured to me that that couple isn't giving Mary and Jeff the stink eye, they're asking each other, "Isn't she someone famous? Of course, she dined with the citywide-known councilman Ron Amalfi and was in all the papers! Let's go over and get her autograph!"
You may be right, Robert. Mary IS rather famous around the region!! Or,...perhaps they have visited Dr. Jeff Corey at the clinic for some..er, tests? And yeah, those creepy boys may be up to no good. They are probably planning to bounce that ball right off the hood of Dr. Jeff's new car!
Don't be shy! I'd love to hear what you have to say about Mary Worth. Just keep it clean, that's all I ask. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY blog. I don't want to moderate comments, but I will if I have to.

ReplyDeleteWhat's with the two "Children of the Corn" in the first panel? Creepy!
ReplyDeleteUncle Lumpy... how could you forget the Three Trees. It's fine dining at its most bland.
ReplyDeleteThree Trees ... is that the one with green lumpy stuff on the plates or yellow lumpy stuff on the plates?
ReplyDeleteToday's colorist was 12-year-old Miriam Watnik of Battle Creek. Good job Miriam!

Mary regrets not wearng her purple pants suit, as she knew Blair.com offered free shipping to Santa Royale.
ReplyDeleteThis has got to be Three Trees, as Mary brought her purse to bag all the free Splenda packets that Charterstone can use for a year!
My personal life, poor thing, it has nothng to do with my basic public life.
