Mary Worth 959

Mary Worth and Me has been Tweeting since May 2008. I have over 40 Tweets already! I'm obsessed!

While Mary Worth focuses on absolutely how dumbed-down a computer can get, I've been fascinated with IBM's Watson who "spanked" all challengers during yesterday's second day on Jeopardy. Have you followed this? It's been very interesting.

Today's Full Strip

  1. Is it my imagination, or is that room starting to close in on them?

Mary is starting to look quite dreamily towards Wilbur; the Twitter has worked its wonders on them!

  2. "It's just a bunch of sentences!"

So is "War and Peace." It's just more sentences.

  3. As Wilbur takes on some strange pedantic look, Mary's first tweet...

  4. "It's just a bunch of sentences."
    "They're supposed to be concise."

HINT TO MOY/GIELLA: Just like a comic strip storyline.

Wilbur strikes me as a Windows Vista User. And when will Mary be in a Windows "To the cloud!" commercial--it's an untapped marketing opportunity.

And no Elaine, the room isn't closing in---thats just oxygen deprivation your feeling from the bag you put over your head to avoid this storyline.

  5. At least Wilbur's comb over is effective.

  6. "It's just a bunch of sentences!"

Yes, but at least they don't all end in exclamation points.

  7. I wonder what celebrity page Wilbur and Mary viewed. Surely it would only be a celeb they both would know existed, like Joey Heatherton or Barnaby Jones.

  8. yes, Mary does seem to be rather dreamily admiring Wilbur's combover and not paying any attention to the Twitter lesson!

  9. Dave in Parma - it's too late. For all of us. There's no avoiding this storyline, no matter how hard we try - we're all in the same boat! Hope someone brought some delicious sandwiches.

  10. @ Elaine: at least I like Ham sandwiches.

@ Robert: I'm thinking it is the Matlock page.

  11. Meanwhile, Dawn has been in the bathroom tweeting for the past 4 days, and Wilbur hasn't noticed.

  12. Love the "War and Peace" comment Mary! Is it at all possible the the joke is on us and Moy/Giella try to make Mary Worth as lame as possible?

  14. I must confess, I AM watching Jeopardy and the Watson challenge and find it very entertaining. Dawn should come out of her room and turn the television set on. It could be an educational experience for Mary.

  15. @Dave in Parma: Do you have any more of those bags? And something to stuff in my mouth to muffle the screaming?

  16. Whoa- I just realized, this blog is nothing but a bunch of sentences, too! That's just eerie!

  17. Why all the sudden detail in Wilbur's combover, complete with white (gray) streak? It's so distracting, I can hardly tweet.

  18. The best part of the Jeopardy! show was when the credits began to roll. After Alex Trebek shook hands with the humans, the one on the left made "choke hands" around Watson's screen.

And comeon... Did anyone REALLY bet on the humans to win a game of question answering? Sheesh!

  19. I Googled "Matlock". I was afraid to open Dr. Matlock's website.

Don't be shy! I'd love to hear what you have to say about Mary Worth. Just keep it clean, that's all I ask. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY blog. I don't want to moderate comments, but I will if I have to.
