Mary Worth 2002

So Gordy came over to grandma's and plopped himself on the floor with some sort of electronic device, while his ma and grandma talked. He really is adjusting well to his new grandad, whom he hasn't met, and probably doesn't even realize he has.

But he does have one thing in common with Sean. Neither is helping with Hanna's move.

  1. One hopes Hanna is packing up the grey dishes, and grey vases and grey ornaments and grey books to donate to Goodwill or the Salvation Army. Perhaps she can also throw in her copy of that bestselling decorating book, "One Shade of Grey".

  2. Rimshot to @fauxprof at 8:51 AM!

Who packs presumably breakable things like dishes and vases without cushioning/wrapping them? Wherever those boxes end up, the contents will only be useful for craft materials for grey mosaics.

Trusting "the flow of life" sounds like something Mary would say. Or the Roto Rooter man.

  3. @kitkat - concrete is very strong material, no need for wrapping them in paper. Sean's apartment may need some structural reinforcement to keep the floor from collapsing.

  4. It's a sad commentary on how tediously long this story has become that we are reaching for material regarding their packing techniques. . . Sticking people trapped inside during the winter with this LOOONNN-G-G (lack of) story is cruel and unusual punishment, unbecoming a comic strip writer. Can't fault Giella. He is a prisoner of Karen Moy as are the rest of us. I think this plot is the comics version of "The Shining". . . "All packing and no action makes Hanna a dull character." Over and over and over. . . .

  5. I see in panel one that Hannah packed the wallpaper, too.

  7. I am totally jealous of Hannah's cement hairdo. Think of alll the money she saves by not having to go to a salon.
