Whoa! indeed. Today's vintage movie vibe is Rhett and Scarlett...with Rhett as an unshaven bodybuilder and Scarlett as a noseless, baggy-eyed blonde in a clown blouse. Way to ruin a meme in the last panel, June.
@Nance at 9:47 a.m., today's boldface haiku says it all. Iris's Whoa igoes beyond what a "?" would have conveyed. Does it mean "Here's looking at you, kid," or "Wait, I changed my mind..."?
Note the birds, KM's go-to emblem of love. I bet she instructed June, "Put in a lotta birds, we need birds flapping!"
I foresee twin floating heads soon: Wilbur's combed-over head and muddled expression competing with "Whoa.."
I think Iris is used to a "relationship" that doesn't include any kind of smooching. She has that from Wilbur. I'm not sure how she could've forgotten that relationships usually include making out ... she has a son, after all.
Don't be shy! I'd love to hear what you have to say about Mary Worth. Just keep it clean, that's all I ask. This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY blog. I don't want to moderate comments, but I will if I have to.

ReplyDeleteBetween the recurring fountain and yesterday's tears, Brigman (is that right?) sure has a lot of trouble illustrating water.
ReplyDeleteToday's Boldface Haiku is titled "Where Are Those Flower Fairies When You Need Them?"
ReplyDeleteFriends...belong. Not.
Everything best.
Iris!
Yes?
Last Thing.
...Whoa.

It's clear to me now after seeing that kiss - the next storyline will be involve Iris and her chiropractor.
ReplyDeleteIris is thinking: And for what reason did we waste our short time together bowling?

ReplyDeleteIris: "Whoa! ... Wait! ... Wait up, Zak! ... WAIT!!!! .... !!!!"
Zak, it's time to run into DAWN!!! DAWN will give you what you need! DAWN will not run away from your sweet kisses! Go, Zak, run to DAWN!

Can anyone not picture Keanu Reeves when you read the word "Whoa".
